Instead of bickering over who has the less crappy trade offer for CP3, can we all at least agree that the Hornets aren't trading him for pennies on the dollar?

The Hornets will tank if they trade Paul. This is a bandwagon city that doesn't understand the concept of rebuilding or rooting for someone that isn't a superstar. Season ticket sales will be laughably low if they try to sell us Jameer Nelson as our new guy

ok let me try this

NJ total=22mill before trade

CP3 for Dooling (dont pick up option just send him to NOH and cut him out for 500k)/Harris/whatever picks

NJ out=13mill'
NJ in=14mill

NJ total=23

Now
Posey for TPE

NJ total=~30

then
Hump/Yi/ for Okafor

NJ out=7mill
Nj in= 11mill

NJ total now=35 give or take

now you can do a Lebron signing.....I could be wrong my #'s but its close enough to get them 1 max FA and with that rich owner of theirs they can buy picks from teams that are looking to sell and still build a bench.

Why are you bringing up Mo Williams? We're talking about Jameer Nelson and Chril Paul here.

I find it comical you make fun of Nelson all-star status when your team had to beg/moan the league to put your "all-star" pg in the game.

Like I said, if they were really looking to trade Paul...it would be all about cap relief and building for the future. They would not take Jameer Nelson back, but Michael Pietrus instead.

That may leave room, I'll take your math as being correct...but that then leaves them with a roster of

PG Paul/Williams
SG Lee/________
SF "LeBron"/Posey
PF Okafor/______
C Lopez/________

WIth 0 money to spend other than the Vet-Min and maybe the Bi-Annual Exception.

That is a great looking roster if 7 was enough, but you need 12. As great as it may be, I don't think a bench that thin would work.

Raptors counter with Evans/Banks/Jack/DeRozan. Two expirings, a nice young prospect in DeRozan, and Jarrett Jack is working out with Mark Price...

Evans/Banks/DeRozan/Prime Mark Price for Chris Paul.

They said the same thing about the 2007-2008 celtics. This was their bench to start the regular season yet still won it all:

Leon Powe
Scot Pollard (injured most of the season)
Tony Allen (Coming back from surgery)
Glen Davis (rookie)
Gabe Pruitt (rookie)
Brian Scalabrine
James Posey
Eddie House

If they pulled off that trade, they would definitely have a great chance but the odds are against them.

Also, the Nets wouldn't have any draft picks to fill the holes.

they can buy them, theres Atl has been rumored to be selling, Mem/Minn all have multiple picks, I assume Minn isn't selling since their GM made those statements.

Again, what does that have to do with anything?

Since you insist on bringing that up, let's look at some stats:

One player averaged 17.8 PPG and 4.1 APG and the other averaged 16.7 PPG and 5.4 APG in the year that both went to the ASG.

Why is it that two guys with similar stats have such different reactions to them both being all stars? With Mo, it's a travesty that he ever even made it there. With Jameer, nobody cares.

If I was an opposing team, I would have nightmares about trying to figure out how to stop a pick and roll from Paul and Howard.

Definitely. Unless a team like the Bulls got LBJ and Bosh, the Magic would be the hands-down favorite to win it all for at least a few years.

Have you guys seen the Orlando forum? It is really interesting stuff. They have a 50 page thread up about inside sources saying CP to Orlando for expiring contracts is a done deal. VERY funny stuff.

Nothing to worry about. Either he signs or he doesn't. It won't keep me from enjoying entertainment. :D

And if he doesn't sign, the entertainment of the cavs board will be infinite times greater. We think cp3 to orlando is a 1% chance but we are having fun with the bloggers out there posting random cp3 ideas.
