If you want to pretend that it's reasonable to hold the fans of one sport to lower standards than fans of another, that's your perogative, but its quite literally the definition of a double standard. And I'm not sure how old you think those fans were, but it wasn't exactly an AARP convention out there.
In fairness, they did get a lot of media attention. I’ll also say this, without the comments and dancing they still would have generated a lot of hate. But, they actually did this stuff. Commentators and fans of other teams aren’t just making this stuff up. I can see Heat fans defending their players but to call people “haters” because they’re calling these guys out for what they’ve done and said in the media is just wrong. And, I'm not holding Heat fans to a double standard, I just don't see how they consider this stuff "classy".
The dancing, guaranteeing rings, the whining, and all the commotion that they brought onto themselves has struck a nerve with a lot of fans and media outlets. This is stuff that they’ve done to themselves. With that said, myself along with other fans/fan bases are entitled to our opinions in regards to the situation. If you consider all the stuff that they’ve done and said classy I’m curious to hear what you consider distasteful.
