Apparently, crowds are what make championship teams. Lots of mad people around here.

Well if I was LeBron and Dwyane I'd like to have a very loud and enthusiastic fan base.

But you're not.

What do you expect?

I take offense to that.

The Miami Heat are among the classiest franchises in the NBA. Micky Arison and Pat Riley are top notch. Head Coach Erik Spoelstra gives everyone their due respect, he is an intelligent, classy man.

You just attacked an entire fan base, city, and our players. That's not right.

Ok so let’s talk about “class”. Was the “Decision” classy? Was it classy when Lebron, Wade, and Bosh got on stage dancing while guaranteeing multiple rings? When rumors started to swirl around (I believe by Bosh) about how they had planned several years ago to team up in Miami, classy? How about all the whining and crying in the locker room? Was that classy? Or when Wade came out and said that the world is a better place now that the Heat are losing? What about the way that Lebron refers to himself in 3rd person to the media? Is that also classy?

Where there’s smoke there’s fire. The Heat players along with the organization have earned this label. What’s the rest of the NBA supposed to do, act as if it never happened? But then, what’s even more “classy” is when somebody says something about it they act as if they’ve been seriously disrespected.

And here’s a serious question; do Heat fans REALLY think that the players and organization have been “classy” this past year?

Very tempting, but I won't.
Can't believe people are still MAD over last summer.

When the Heat won 15 games, they had better attendance than Boston did when they won 24, but nobody would dream of trashing the Celtic fan base.

According to bb-r.com, Boston had an attendance of 690,576 that year, easily in the bottom half of the league. When they won 15, Miami had an attendance of 798,004, remaining top-10.

As a former season ticket holder (had to give them up when I moved out of state) I can tell you with all honesty that Heat fans are not BSing you when they say that the upper bowl is always full, and always is so at the tip at that. The wealthy lower bowl types like to stroll in late (not nearly as much in the postseason) but they still generally show, if for no other reason than to see and be seen.

Tempted to do what? Did it not happen? Is this how a “classy” franchise behaves? Should the media along with other fan bases just “overlook” these acts? Again, when people point this stuff out it’s considered to be unjustified “hate” by Heat fans. It’s not unjustified hate, it’s what ACTUALLY happened. They really did do this stuff and consequently by doing so, they brought more attention to themselves.

What are the odds, they move the studio next game or put some kind of net or glass behind?

I wonder if SUN will let them borrow that set across a few blocks away where Jax does post-game.

That said, I'm embarrassed by someone having actually thrown something. We've got too many dumb bandwagon teenagers who make Heat all fans look bad. As if they needed any more ammo to come after Heat fans.

In most nationally televised college football games, ESPN does their pre game open air in front of fans like the TNT show tonight. And whenever Lee Corso or whoever picks the away team in those games, the crowd boos and heckles them with passion. And nobody cares at all, because it's really not a big deal. People are making a big deal of it here because they want any excuse to bash the Heat or their fans, or are suffering from pretty standard and universal cognitive biases.

Do you really want to bring up who's fanbase is more supportive Boston's or Miami's? I'm sorry but Miami's bad years were nothing like some of ours.

You're entitled to your own opinions, but you're not entitled to your own facts. And the fact is that in the two franchises' most recent awful seasons (and by win totals, Miami's was easily worse), the Heat had pretty good attendance, while Boston's was piss poor. You can draw whatever conclusions you want, but facts are facts.

I’ve never seen this happen in the NBA before. That’s what we’re talking about right, the NBA? Not a bunch of college kids at a pep rally, right? But even better yet, people aren’t allowed to have an opinion on it. They just use it as an “excuse” to hate. You’re saying that the Heat players didn’t supply any ammo and are just innocent victims of this unwarranted “hate”.

When the Heat won 25 games back in the 02-03 season, their attendance was also piss poor btw (something like 622,000) so I'm not going to pretend like they're the most amazing fans in the world. Their strong attendance in a 15-win season really shows what a draw Wade is more than anything else

The important thing to take away is that even a franchise with a supposedly great fan base sees attendance drop significantly when they don't win. A lot of the stuff Heat fans get trashed for are true of every team. There were very very few empty seats at the opening tip tonight, and there were a comparable number at the opening tip in Chicago's home games. That's not an indictment of the Chicago fan base anymore than the poor attendance of Boston a few years ago is an indictment of theirs.

And when was the last time you saw an NBA team get as much national press as this year's Heat and have the majority of it be negative? If you want to pretend that it's reasonable to hold the fans of one sport to lower standards than fans of another, that's your perogative, but its quite literally the definition of a double standard. And I'm not sure how old you think those fans were, but it wasn't exactly an AARP convention out there.

In fairness, they did get a lot of media attention. I’ll also say this, without the comments and dancing they still would have generated a lot of hate. But, they actually did this stuff. Commentators and fans of other teams aren’t just making this stuff up. I can see Heat fans defending their players but to call people “haters” because they’re calling these guys out for what they’ve done and said in the media is just wrong. And, I'm not holding Heat fans to a double standard, I just don't see how they consider this stuff "classy".

The dancing, guaranteeing rings, the whining, and all the commotion that they brought onto themselves has struck a nerve with a lot of fans and media outlets. This is stuff that they’ve done to themselves. With that said, myself along with other fans/fan bases are entitled to our opinions in regards to the situation. If you consider all the stuff that they’ve done and said classy I’m curious to hear what you consider distasteful.

You dont think all the "whining" is just blown out of proportion due to the amount of media attention? Everyone "whines" about the refs and certain calls but when the Heat do it its completely out of control and classless. I'm sorry but I think Wade, LeBron, and Bosh have shown a ton of class throughout the entire season. Unlike players like Pierce and KG who i would say are classless. I dont understand whats classless about guaranteeing your fan base championships? Whats wrong with a big celebration for the fans who had been paying to watch the Heat basically do nothing but wait for the 2010 free agency since they traded Shaq. I'm going go out on a limb and say that had Chicago landed LeBron and D-Wade or both they wouldve had huge celebrations as well. Everyone is just so mad about the way LeBron made his "decision" that its casting a shadow over everything else the Heat have/will do as an organization.

makes me want to see the next Chuckles and Wade commercial "Can you hear me now?"
or "Hey, Chuck, listen to this"

Barkley has always spoken before he thinks - I've got no problem with him. But announcers of play-off games should at least try to tone down their homerism.

anyway, chuck was probably in a hurry to leave because he was gonna have sex :D
