Very divisive prospect but he's got a workers attitude and has shown some solid things so far.
It's only been a small sample but he has seen to have improved in the areas he was criticized for. He's been keeping his head up while attacking the basket and made some really good passes, his defense has looked pretty good, especially tonight. I think people overlooked the fact he has a decent midrange game and is good with his back to the basket. I don't really see him as the gamble others do, he'll be a good enough defender right off the bat and even if he struggles with his outside shooting he'll get his points in the paint and at the line. He's going to see minutes so he'll be judge early on, but between him and Chriss I don't think they'll be as big of projects as people believe.
They didn't overlook his midrange and back to basket game he didn't have one before. If he's showing it now that's recently developed. I just saw one of his coaches from HS yesterday and asked about him. Told me Jaylen's been putting in work.
A lot of comments have said his shot is broken and he has no shot while it has looked good this preseason and he did shoot over 40% from 12-16 and 16< at Cal, so yeah I do believe people overlook that he does have a decent midrange shoot. I don't care what he shot in high school. I also apologize if I'm mistaken but I don't believe that you conviently ran into his Marion high school coach. Checking past posts you seem say you also have friends that hung out with Aldridge and the Blazers team in 2012(despite Aldridge admitting he doesn't go out clubbing/out with teammates at the time because of his two kids and being in a relationship) Despite you saying you were too young to get into a strip club you talk about knowing everything about Moses Malone's game in another thread. It would make more sense if you were a forty year old that had some kind of job affiliated around a NBA franchise.
