I must be missing something here because on paper the Clippers should do this trade immediately.

It might affect players' willingness to sign with an organization with no sense of job security, and other things of that nature. From a purely basketball standpoint, it seems like a no-brainer

I personally wouldn't hate this trade if you also threw in Gibson.

Gibson is a needed player with Boozer's injury history

Griffin is like our messiah - out fo the darkness into the light kind of thing. Plus, griffin is way more than any other team can offer. Its just not worth it - even though we would probably win more games in the long run.
We need to deal with the situation at hand. Dwight is leaving and only a handful of teams are in the running to get him. No way Orlando gets fair value under these pre-conditions.
Dwight wants to play with Paul and Griffin. If thats what he really wants, then that is what will eventually happen. We can easily trade Jordan and Gomes for capspace and thereby afford Dwight on the open market. Orlando will cooperate or they risk falling into the Toronto / Cleveland trap. Right now the Clippers have all the leverage. They are making basketball fun to watch again. Dwight wants to be a part of that and who can really blame him?

Just like the Cavs got nothing for lebron because he refused to say where he wanted to go so we couldnt even trade him. The Magic would trade him in a heartbeat for a below average offer then just letting him walk for nothing. I can honestly see them trading Mo williams, Deandre Jordan and 2 first round picks. I see this as a very fair offer considering its a lot better then nothing at all. Teams like Chicago and LA have ALL of the leverage over the Magic.

They'll be at 49 million next season. Mo has a player option, but they can just amnesty him. 8 million off the books
.
41 million. The cap is at 58 million right? They can sign him
.
They can even trade Jordan and get a TPE to offer dwight max money
