That said, Harden is doing some impressive things with no KD, rookie coach and new team. The man is a one man wrecking crew. No other player carries teammates better than Harden other than Lebron.

it has always been about team record. If the Nuggets don't get higher in the win column Jokic won't be the first or last advanced stat darling to get jobbed.

The Nuggets are currently a 6th seed. They essentially were supposed to be what Utah is right now. If everyone had the Nuggets as a borderline playoff team coming in, he'd have the narrative on his side IE MVP Russell Westbrook.

This is why he isn't my MVP if the season ended right now, its Embiid. But with Harden carrying the Nets to an elite record with a trash cast (No KD), its going to come down to Harden-Jokic-Lillard. It has never been all about stats. Team record, expectations and elite numbers all play a role.

Side note - I think Giannis should also be getting more talk. But it looks like he's getting the Lebron treatment here. People taking for granted what he's doing.

Down goes Joker's MVP campaign. Great season but team is just not good enough. Embarrassing to lose to this Raptors teams with the largest loss of the season.

He was pretty passive tonight passing on every opportunity like a cruising Lebron but the Bucks still took the win. His sprained knee is probably still affecting him. Let's see for how long.

As good as jokic advanced stats are, the record just wont be there. I think even dallas has a chance of finishing as a higher seed.

Why? Because he played pretty invisible tonight and his team probably wins with or without him?

The rest of the body of work mostly. Statistical output. Team success. Etc.

All the candidates and even the darkhorse (Doncic) laid an egg. Giannis or Jokic for me, though in saying that Giannis’s team is much much better (weaker conference let’s not forget) like not close at all. Only Doncic has a worst cast of misfits lol.

Raps just played like it’s their last game (which it might be for Lowry and some others) in Raps jersey. They just played with insane energy while Denver was sluggish on a back to back road game. Not indicative of how much Denver’s gonna win.

Giannis will more than likely win again..

Bucks started off slow & are looking to end the season on a strong note with a 8 game winning streak currently.

Jokic has the advanced stats but I don’t think they will give it to him.

Media is not voting for Giannis again. Simple as that.

We made Giannis look awful last night :D
Smart can guard almost anyone in this league.
That being said, i fully expect Giannis to go nuclear against us tomorrow.
On a side note, someone must explain what this **** Middleton has against us. He looks like prime Ray Allen every time we play the Bucks.

Bird was the last player to win 3 straight MVPs but he won 2 championships in that window.

Giannis has never even sniffed the finals. Yes it's a regular season award but 3 straight MVPs is hollowed ground and for that yes I think the narrative is he doesn't deserve it.

Despite voter fatigue, if Milwaukee finishes top 2 Giannis may win MVP, if Denver don't even finish top 4....
Who else can win it?
Harden is a write-off because he was traded.
Embiid/LeBron probably missing too many games.
Lillard plays for Portland.
Doncic plays for Dallas.

Given that the Laker are likely to fall quite a bit in the next month I think there's a good chance that the Nuggets finish top 3 in the west. Plus if this trade actually works out for them.

Giannis was up 2-0 in the ECF in 2009 on my Raptors with Game 3 in OT. Needless to say he was very close to making the Finals and possibly winning a title. Then last year he got injured in the playoffs. He had flaws in his game like lack of outside shooting but he hasn't choked in either postseason IMO.

That said, I would have Jokic for MVP.

Lebron out 4-6 weeks per shams. Does he still have a shot to win mvp? If lakers continue to lose and then win when he comes back? Whats the most games he can miss and still win?

I think even Giannis’ most aggressive supporters would agree he laid an egg against the Heat and their only win came after he got hurt in the series. His shooting splits were very pedestrian and he played very passive.
