Actually it was 3.5 months, which is slightly over half the season. Mine has 34 games. And oh yeah, key point - we had our best defensive player then (its actually the crux of the argument)

I agree warriors defense is really good but using before Jan 1st is not a good sample size since their schedule was extremely soft the first 2 months of the season. Likewise using after Jan 1st for the sample size is not good either since it's without draymond for most of it.

At the end of the day, the Warriors and Celtics, injuries, schedule, everything included, finished within percentage points of each other in DRtg. We can zoom in to frame it any other way - the Celtics did it later in the season, the Warriors were lower when Draymond was healthy - but neither way is going to answer who has the better defense in this series, against the same team 4-7 times where all the bags of tricks will be emptied
