If we were in a weak era and none of the best offensive players had elite defense, then Jokic may have been the best player.....but we aren't in that era.bebopdeluxe wrote:
No gymnastics involved. Embiid has been the best player, and his team is the #1 seed in its conference. He has been an offensive juggernaut (not as good as Jokic) and a All-Defense/DPOY-level defender (did I mention that Jokic is having an unreal offensive season?).
As long as Embiid keeps up this two-way play, and the Sixers stay near the top of the East table, it is his award to lose, IMO.
You guys can keep pretending like that east isn't absolutely hot garbage. There's literally only THREE teams that are 2 games over .500. THREE. The whole comparing of records thing as if there's symmetry is complete BS imo. Why not have a nuanced take on team record? I can concede that as of now Embiid is the MVP, but its not because hes a better player than Jokic, its due to external factors.
That's a stupid excuse ur making up, will u atleast admit Embiid is possibly better even without the external factors your talking about? Smfh
No, Jokic has better raw stats. Five more assists per game equates to 10 points, so net +7 points for the Joker. Embiid has a 34% usage rating while Jokic is 29%, that's a huge difference.
