No need to overreact to one game, but it is the first strong opponent OKC has had in a while. They've had a cakewalk schedule so far and it's way too early to start proclaiming any player has a large gap in the award.

and they have to play the Spurs 4 more times this year. His otherworldly efficiency will likely come down a little as the schedule starts to get tougher but he's still in the lead for now.

Shai better enjoy it because it will be his last

Hard to win MVP when your body can’t handle playing more than 50 games in a season

You as a Jokic hater are on SGA, and now you're switching to Wemby, quite hilarious. You still on Luka MVP?

Wemby is the most impactful player in the league when healthy. Been saying that since game 1.

What does Jokic or Luka have to do with anything?

He absolutely is, but he also seems to never be eligible fo the award.
Seems like Spurs are a lock for the PO, hopefully we'll get to see him there finally this year, today was really special.

As I’ve said. Shai TS/Efficiency is misleading when 60% of his games have been against trash defenses.

Shai got pressed up a lot more this game and struggled to get separation. I suspect we’ll see teams with the right personnel adopt this strategy more and more.

So impactful that the spurs have the same record without him

Well, saying he never seems to be eligible for the award is silly when you realize this is literally only his 3rd year and the fact that he is still 21 years old.

He is so far ahead at 21. Shai did not become an MVP level player until around 25. Wemby is already there now. He just needs to remain healthy. Scary to fathom where he could be 7 years from now.

Factoring in his history and body type I'd say it isn't silly, hopefully he never has to deal long term injuries.

Hoping he follows the same path as Curry. His first 3 years he could not stay on the court because of his ankles, we even questioned his future, but he suddenly became healthy and became one of the greats. But Curry's first 3 years were even worse injury wise then Wemby.

Has Wemby had a ton of injuries? They managed him like crazy his rookie year when they weren't trying to win, and he had blood clots last year, not an injury. Minor calf strain this year, which is a pretty common basketball injury.

Not really. That's why I firmly believe will be playing 65-75 games yearly unless something crazy like the blood clot scare happens again.

He should be in line for 2 DPOY's already and an MVP bid this season. His ceiling is so absurd that when he does reach it, its going to blow things out of the water. Shai may be having a historic run, but Wemby could be in line for the GOAT season within the next 2-4 years.
