I am someone who still thinks Rondo has a place in this league.

But.......why? Why for the Lakers and why for Rondo?

He averaged 12 points and 12 assists a year ago...nothing unusual about thinking he still has a place.

I have a feeling Kobe vouched for Rondo. Rondo's defensive rating is top notch and Lakers guards play defense like the Washington Generals

Didn't think about the Kobe angle, but yeah he did respect Rondo a lot.

Why would they have interest in either rondo or iggy. Thought they learnt their lesson from last year

Huge fan but for a rebuilding team spending stupid money on a 33-34 year old is not smart not for the amount of years he likely wants.

LAL should jump at this. I read that from his time in Chicago that he is known to be great around young players.

Rondo took their side when Wade/Butler was throwing the team under the bus. Also seeing interviews from former Celtics and Big Baby had that quote about "you want to run through a wall for Rondo". It all just shows he has a strong personality.
Rondo also wants to coach in the near future, no better way to get ready for that by mentoring a young squad.

I'm not thrilled but Rondo might be one of the few guards you could realistically get to sign a 1 year deal. Him being good with youngsters sounds intriguing too.

Biggest question would be how would Rondo be as a mentor to Lonzo?

Honestly I don't know but he has had locker room problems before.

Rondo should go to the Clippers w Doc - replace CP3 - they need a PG.

I think talking with Iggy was just an obligatory conversation, Lakers well aware he's looking for a big deal and longer years. Wouldn't make too much out of that contact.

Rondo on the other hand is in need of "rep repair", a year here with no problems and a few good words from management and coaching staff could work wonders for him. Especially if he's looking to go on a ring hunt with a contender.
