Marriage did not begin with Christianity. It is VERY old. The union of a man and a woman is much older than that, and it was spread around every corner of the earth, including Asia. Even the oldest civilizations in recorded history, such as Ancient Egypt, held marriage as a sacred bond/union between man and woman.
The foundation for all human existence is Father-Mother-Child. It is the backbone of all civilization.
