Let me put it this way, if you were to stop drinking beer (or the harder stuff) cut back on salt and drink a couple liters of water a day you'd be down 15 pounds in 2-3 weeks easy. Without any real exercise. Alcohol and salt both dehydrate you (though of course you do need some salt, especially in the heat). Both trick your body into thinking it's likely to dehydrate badly so the body responds by holding onto extra water. That's most of what a beer belly is, just water weight. Cut those two out, super hydrate with decent water and your body will start purging the water it's holding. Last time I had to do this it took about 2 days before I started waking up 3 times a night to take one of those marathon pisses that just keeps going... The body was purging water .

It's not just the water weight from booze. When do most people drink? At night. So what happens? The body metabolizes the alcohol first before the food in your system. By the time it gets to burning food, it's while you're sleeping when the metabolic rate is lowest. Hence the extra body fat on most people who drink alcohol, especially those who drink daily.

I bet near half of the obesity problem in adults in this country is due in large part to alcohol abuse. It's for the reason above plus many people make bad food choices while drinking.

I barley eat during the day and then drink heavy at night and eat heavy after smoke before bed. I know this is terrible for what we are talking about. I just do not care I guess. I do play ball almost everyday and lift weights. I am also in my 40s, so if I did not do those good things I would probably be a blimp. I do not have that fat face an alcoholic has. It is more just the beer gut.

He’s a GM that just got Luka Doncic. As far as LA is concerned, he can wear whatever he wants.

Fair point. Maybe I'm less affected on that point because I never ate while drinking. Just killed my hunger.
From a fundamental standpoint it is better for a man to have nothing but be under the protection of Jesus Christ than for him to have everything he could ever want yet be completely without.

A night of hard drinking with wings and fries will easily put a bunch of water weight on you. Consistently drinking will teach your body to hold both the water and the salt.

The human body is perfectly adapted to salt, (good quality salt, a Celtic Himalayan or sea salt) your tears, your sweat, it's salty,... none of that refined ****... I train weights and practice MMA (in my opinion or at least the ones I practice, the most demanding sport at a cardio level) and I have made 6 grams of sea salt in 3 liters of water... most bottled water (at least in Spain) is treated and free of minerals, it is dead water... the salt is loaded with mimerals... don't believe me, just try it and tell me... (or you can also buy sea water and drink it in a proportion of 1 part (sea water) to 3 of mineral)...it's about going back to the origins, to what our body is designed and made us evolve from Cabernas...eliminate ultra-processed, processed foods, sugars and flours...eat meat/eggs/fish and decorate it with vegetables...hydrate yourself well (listen to your body) take care of the way you treat yourself, how you talk to yourself and don't worry about salt, the sun and nature...that it's not the problem

This, Im 6'4 (maybe 6'5) and currently weigh between 240 & 245. People say that I'm on the slimmer side. If I was 2 to 3 inches taller, I could see being 30 pounds heavier and it wouldn't look crazy.
