Especially when you consider that his team is in the midst of a 3-5 stretch that includes a duck and a L against the other two contenders. Shows you how badly the media was dying to give it to him. The MVP version of the Marcus Smart DPOY.
Naw that's Jokic media begging to give it to him last year, with Zach Lowe and the Boston media mafia throwing hissy fits when they saw that Embiid was leading the straw poll last season. Jokic literally did the same thing people are complaining Embiid of doing. He turned it up post all star break with Embiid getting a few key losses. Just lol at the hypocrisy.

"Jokic media begging" - Have you seen the media this year for Embiid? Sit down interviews of him having Jokic living rent free in his head, his coach constantly mentioning it to media, etc.
Jokic didn't change his game post - ASB last year, he shot .2 times more per game, just played more efficiently (61% shooting instead of 57%).
We're seeing what Jokic's team could have played like last year by their performance this year. Turns out having two max contract guys in jerseys rather than suits makes a difference.
I am glad that Embiid is winning MVP this year for one reason...he'll finally stop bitching to the media about it and have a reason to install a trophy case in his home
