Surprised no one has mentioned Rickey Green, PG for the Utah Jazz in the early 80s. Was the fastest player on the court in that decade.

we in Europe, had this guy Bo McCalebb, and he wasn't a shooter, just a short slasher, and he was amazing. He had no business being as good as he was. I still feel Bo never got a fair chance in the NBA... was always perplexed he is in Europe and not NBA.

Never got any chance in the NBA.

Bo played at a lower level college (New Orleans) from 2003-04 to 2007-08, wasn't drafted, was just 6' tall. Averaged 24 pts/g and 3-4 ast/g his last couple of years in school.

But he couldn't shoot, career college numbers of just 33% on 3s and a 67% FT%. What he could do was draw fouls and get to the FT line at a high rate, and rebound well for his size. But little guys from small schools that can't shoot rarely get a chance in the NBA regardless of what else they can do.

Has had a hellavu career overseas however.

My buddy sat front row courtside for the first time last Friday night and said what stood out to him the most was the speed of the players on the fast breaks.

For context - LeBron was in the league 7 years before wall and has been playing 3 years after Wall pretty much stopped playing nba basketball-

I still remember watching CAVS vs Pacers game, where young Danny Granger torched Bron in first half. and after a break, NBA superstar LeBron James is asked about ''youngster'' Danny Granger, and LeBron is like - yeah, great kid, bright future, lots of potential.

Like Dude, Danny Granger has been out of the league for more than a decade now

Granger was also an older rookie and his career ended because of injuries more so than him aging out.

Don't get me wrong, LeBron's longevity is still wild, but that particular example is a bit different.

But not in the NBA for the most part-

Each of these guys were drafted to play meaningful minutes in the NBA and none of them are-

Also LeBrons level of play at 40 is higher than the peak of all of these guys- think about how insane that is

Also LeBrons level of play at 40 is higher than the peak of all of these guys- think about how insane that is

Well, most pro ballers arent in the NBA, and some of the guys you mention were picked low, obviously most players don't have NBA talent, let alone Lebron talent, so I do not think thats particularly great argument. But of course the fact Lebron was in 2003 draft and is still a star today, is crazy. More and more players in the NBA weren't even born when Lebron was a rookie.

A lot of these guys still playing, snd will probably play after Lebron retires tho. But I am thinking, Lebron was already a big star when Chris Psul get drafted, or Curry, Curry entered the league, Lebron was already in the finals once.

But not in the NBA for the most part-

Each of these guys were drafted to play meaningful minutes in the NBA and none of them are-

My point is guys who dreamed of being in the NBA and made it to the league and were good enough to be drafted 10s after his rookie year NEVER were as good as he was as a 40 year old. It’s a crazy thought

Thank you. I was gonna hunt this clip down but you did it for me. I don't think I ever saw Rose or Wall run this fast on the break.

You right - good point - beating a dead horse -

It’s one in a million + to be a nba player at 28- it’s insane to be better than all but 15 to 20 basketball players on earth at the age of 40 -

Saying it outloud is crazy - LeBron is better than all but 15 basketball players on earth and he 40!

There's no shot in hell he ran that time lol

I heard of Derrick Rose and a 4.18 yard dash as well and I think he was faster than Parker.

There were several threads about in realgm over the years.

I have no idea where these numbers come from. i checked one of threads it was mentioned in and then did some googling and I'm pretty sure it's AI/clickbait just regurgitating some made up numbers.

That's the best answer I've ever seen on the topic TBH.
