This empty feeling is terrible, its a wave of emotions. You forget for 5 minutes and then it hits you again...

He was defining 'wealth' in terms of his children, I'm guessing, and other less materially valued things.

Then it makes no sense. The poster was clearly referring to his monetary wealth - ie he could afford to use a helicopter to get around.

Why are you in here arguing brother?

News organizations should protect their journalists, not acquiesce to the mob when it comes for them.

The Washington Post not only failed Felicia Sonmez, but set a dangerous precedent.

And if the pilot did ultimately make a mistake- remember he is someone’s son or possibly a brother uncle father etc. he made a terrible mistake but we have to remember to pay respects for everyone involved just like we mourn the great loss of Kobe and all the families on board

I’ve been an absolute wreck for 24 hours. Could eat, just slept and wouldn’t get out of bed.

I was fortunate enough to attend Kobe’s last game, and sat close to the Lakers bench. I want to write up something about that, but I’m not sure how to post pictures on this site.

they did nothing wrong by suspending her

She was simply seeking attention and being a complete idiot during this time of sorrow.

Kobe could've said no. The pilot would've had to been completely reckless not to inform them of the weather conditions.

There are a few but not many.

You can also throw in Usain Bolt, Serena Williams, Kylian Mbappé etc.

no, no and no

Yeah respect to them and all but including those three really does a disservice to just how big Kobe was to be honest. In terms of being a global icon, influencing and inspiring millions of kids and hell even adults, as well as impacting wider culture, Jordan, Messi, Ronaldo, and maybe LeBron are really the only guys who compare. It's not just about career earnings or even name recognition. And Jordan is a fair bit older and has been out of the spotlight for a while whereas Kobe has seemed to be in the prime of his life with the way his second act was going, so even MJ's death wouldn't have had the same reaction imo as huge as it would've been. Once you factor in the way it went down, being a tragic completely unexpected accident, and the fact that his daughter, the one who was supposed to carry on the Mamba legacy, died with him...it all just compounds to create something unfathomably devastating.

Watching Kobe's final game and seeing Gigi's face glisten with excitement as her dad put on a show really breaks my heart. Legit in tears after rewatching the highlights of his final game.

Smh...nobody knows if someone’s relationship with Jesus is genuine except the Almighty. Now THIS is a genuinely dumb thing to say.

People have different ways of grieving bro. Be gentle.

Another quote from his instagram. A bit longer.

This. All people grieve differently. It's about compassion.

After 24 hours, I'm still speechless.

For the next 7 days, all the games of the various italian leagues (from the top LBA to the lower ones) will start with a minute of silence.

And, as you probably already read, the city of Reggio Emilia will name a square after Kobe, near the local arena.

its the pilots decision...if the weather is bad he should not take off. If the LAPD helicopter was grounded, there was no reason to take yours up

She wasn't acting as a journalist, she was posting on twitter. If she does something stupid on her own time, they don't have to protect her. Now if she wrote a story about it today and it was approved by her editor and published, that would be totally different.
