You aren't making sense. If the lottery was done at 7 and Mutumbo congratulated the 76ers a couple hours before, how does that not scream rig??
Didn't you know the average IQ of realgm posters are 0-100?

Are you both brainless? Please explain how they can rig the lottery when every team representative is in the room watching the ping pong balls.
It's not rigged, give your heads a shake.
I don't know whether it's rigged or not. But if you don't believe there's some way to jimmy that ping-pong ball gimmick if they want to, then you're naive.

yea ok you're the only naive one for believing the NBA can alter physics. Not to mention the billion dollar lawsuit towards all the companies involved and the NBA from the teams and sponsors. Give your head a shake.

LOL, not sure why you're not understanding but KidPistol was responding to when you originally said:

Now think a little harder. The fact that Mutombo tweeted 2 hrs before points to the lottery being rigged because his tweet potentially revealed the predetermined (i.e., rigged) result. So if you're a conspiracy theorist, this is proof it was rigged. Got it now?

All those who claim this is proof that the lotto is rigged are paranoid. All those that say it is stupid to entertain the notion that it maybe rigged are naive.
It's not difficult to imagine a scenario where the NBA wants Hinkie out because they see what he's doing as being bad for the league so they make a deal with Philly: Give us control of the team (Colangelos) and the first pick is yours. Dikembe, still with ties in the organization is told this but they say "under no circumstances are you to tell anyone before May 17th. That's the draft lottery day. May 17th comes and he's like "Yeah! I can tell people now!"
It's also not difficult to imagine a scenario where Dikembe googles the lottery results and it simply shows the odds for each team (with Philly obviously at the top) and he mistakes that to mean they won. Then due to a coincidence, the most probable team actually DOES win it.
It's silly to dismiss either of these scenarios.

Why don't they do a reverse lottery where they draw things 14 times
Give more balls to the higher seeds so you pick the higher seeds first...would be so much more exciting

Is this like when the NBA "rigged" the lottery so that two generation talents, Oden & Durant, went to two of their smallest markets? One market they had already decided to kill?
A case for the NBA lottery being rigged:
#1 picks going to LA, NY, or Chicago.
A case for the NBA lottery not being rigged:
#1 picks going to Minnesota (already happened) and Philly
Or how they rigged it so Cleveland would win three out of four years.

Again, I am not a conspirator, but the rational would be rebuilding a franchise after the loss of their super-star, or in the 2014 Draft's case, to net a high Draft Pick to assist in the return of LeBron James.

The nba is not stupid. They already know that people expect the lottery to be rigged in favor of big markets. That's why they never give big markets the number 1 overall pick it's usually 2 or 3 to make it seem less obvious

The Draft went in exact order. How often does that occur?

The idea that the NBA draft is rigged is, to me, ridiculous for a multitude of reasons. Here are a few...
1. Who gains from this? Certainly not the NBA, unless they're funneling potential star players to big markets. Which, you know, they haven't been doing judging by most of the past ten years of lotteries. If it's individual teams, why would the NBA consent to help one franchise at the expense of the rest? And if the owners know the draft is rigged, why would they consent to to help other franchises than their own? It makes no sense.
2. The draft lottery balls are drawn in a room with a representative from every team. How exactly do they rig this?
3. The lottery itself is done by a private firm who, if they were caught cheating, could potentially lose everything. Why would they consent to do this?
4. If it got out that the NBA was rigging the lottery, and it would if they did it every year in favor of different teams, it would forever tarnish the legitimacy of the sport. Why would the NBA risk doing this for such marginal gains? They're making an ungodly amount of money right now. Why risk that just to help out a couple of crappy franchises every year?
5. If there is some vast conspiracy, why in the world would they tell Mutombo of all people?
I just don't see the logic here for any of it.

I understand the various rationals, and could see David Stern doing it, but as you stated, Ernst and Young would never risk their reputation, in my opinion.

That's the key to me. I could see it being rigged back in the day before everything was over-analyzed on social media and it was so easy to blow open a conspiracy story, but it's hard to see it happening today, especially with a firm like Ernst and Young doing it. I just don't see the benefit for them. It's all risk and minimal gain.
The same is true for the NBA. It's so much risk for such dubious gains.

They take all the team representatives in the room and then do the drawing then, they have the televised version later. I sincerely doubt that Mutombo was given the supposed fix ahead of time or something.
I read an article on the Team Steam ap which stated the lottery was complete yesterday and that a representative from every lotto teams knew the results yesterday.
Somehow the honor code keeps the 14 reps quite for the entire day. The representative from each lotto team cannot tell the GM or any coworkers the draft results. I'm fairly surprised that we have not had a draft leak yet. Unless Mutombo was the first.

Because it's crappy television, and they can't do it online because that spoils more compelling television. Why does it matter if it's live if they eventually post the video?
