Paul George + Robert Williams+ the Bucks 2023 1st round pick for Jaylen Brown.

The Clippers get a young all star in exchange for Paul George who's good enough to the point where the Clippers can still be a playoff team post Kawhi Leonard. They would also get Robert Williams for salary Matching purposes.

The Celtics get a all star caliber who's going to be under contract for a longer period of time, who would be a great 2nd option next to Jayson Tatum. They Also get a late 1st round pick as a sweetener.

That guts our frontcourt WAY too much.

It should be the Clippers offering George + too.

My trade offer

Post#63 » by Courant » Wed Mar 22, 2023 1:37 am

Portland gets: Jaylen Brown and 2025 first-round pick.

Boston gets: Damian Lillard and two first-round picks (the New York Knicks' 2023 pick and Portland's first pick that doesn't convey to Chicago). Per the Lauri Markkanen deal, Chicago gets a future first-round, top 14 protected pick from 2022 to 2028.

Note: Lillard will be trade eligible on July 9, The deal is contingent on Brown agreeing to signing a long-term deal with Portland.

The OP doesn't like JB at all and I don't think a single day has passed without him saying so.

Which is fine, but I'm saying this just because I don't want to hear about how "Celtics fans" hate Jaylen Brown and want to trade him. It's not the case for most of us.

I certainly agree with you, I believe Boston knows what they have in Jaylen Brown. His noncommittal stance, IMO, is moreso a realistic approach to FA. It will be very hard for Brown to leave all that money on the table to sign elsewhere.

That being said,

Brandon Ingram/Jonas Valuncunias for J Brown/Rob Williams

Not convinced Portland would trade two firsts with Dame for Brown… but irregardless, I do think Brown for Dame is a legitimate possibility if Brown signs a long term deal in the trade.

Damian Lillard's contract

I would tend to agree, but Damian Lillard also has a contract that pays him another $218 million over four years that expires when he is almost 37. I don't believe Boston is willing to take on that sizable contract when Lillard clearly will be out of his prime unless Portland throws in at least one first-rounder. Also, one of those first-round picks comes from the Knicks this year, which currently is trending to be the No. 23 pick.

In any event, the deal allows Boston to continue to be a title contender by pairing Lillard and Jayson Tatum while allowing Brown to be the focal point of a rebuild without giving up Anfernee Simons and Shaedon Sharpe.

Id give him whatever we could afford and if we had to sign and trade throw a bunch of picks down. This team could be favorites in year 2 or 3.

Would love to see a swap of Zach Lavine and Jaylen Brown. Main reason is that Bulls fans just never appreciated Lavine and he is wasting his talent on the Bulls team.

Jaylen Brown gets to have his OWN team as a leader, he will have a fresh start to show what he can do and how he can lead a team.

Bridges for Brown would be an interesting swap. Brooklyn reportedly had a ton of teams interested in Bridges. Bridges has been averaging an efficient 26 PPG for Brooklyn as the #1 option on that team and Brooklyn has been about a .500 since the trade.

Top 40 player though

Putting him top 25 doesn't bother me, but there are guys that are above him on that list that are too high.

Top 20-25 is accurate for him. Putting him at 35-40 is an insult.

I would be interested in seeing what a team like Minnesota would offer for Jaylen though.

JB in Minny would be interesting.

On a serious note, I also would be curious what they'd offer for him.

On a silly note, after seeing what they gave up for Gobert, I would be really curious what they'd offer for him.

Unpredictable injuries aside, Lillard has at least 2-3 more excellent years in him. He'll be an All-NBA player for at least half of his remaining contract and a high-level starter for the entirety of it... if a team believes he puts them over the top, they'll be willing to pay his contract.

People make too much of his contact when he's still THIS good. He's not like Harden or Westbrook who's skills have clearly declined but still have super max deals. Dame is coming off the best year of his entire career with no signs of rapid decline.

If Brown could be had without giving up Dame... I would also throw in Sharpe to that package.

This thread is a complete Poo Poo Platter of crap (other than the ORL offer which had to be sarcastic). Also, there is no chance Brown will sign before becoming a FA due to salary restrictions in current CBA. Verbal promises mean nothing.

Jaylen Brown and either Pritchard or Muscala (for salary matching) straight up for Trae Young would be a fun reset for each team. ATL to add picks if compensation is not sufficient.
