By stats, inflated advanced stats you mean?

Again, you can't inflate impact and efficiency metrics.

Sure you can. Jokic inflated his advanced stats by scoring a lot of points on great efficiency, making incredible passes and rebounding at an elite level, all while being on the floor when his team is outscoring their opponents. He's essentially cheating the system, that ****.

Some of them overvalue assists coming from bigs, as well as rebounds.

So no, they can be inflated.

I find it pretty funny that some Sixers fans are calling out Jokic for stat-padding when Embiid chased stats all year just to get MVP. It's also ironic because by all accounts, Jokic could care less and Embiid wanted it so bad. Every argument they use to attack Jokic applies equally - if not more - to Embiid: didn't win enough, hasn't had playoff success, stat padding for the MVP with historically high usage rates, etc.

The best part was when they called out his anger issues as if Embiid is not the most immature star in this league. And then top it off with the crusade against advanced stats as if Jokic didn't destroy Embiid in pretty much every box stat as well. The lengths they'll go to to tear down Jokic.

I personally think Giannis is the best player in the league but Jokic edged him and Embiid out this year for the award. Well deserved.

The Stat padding is bs. You could easily say Embiid statpadded to get the scoring title. But I wouldn’t say that about Embiid. Joker did what he had to do to win games

People can get their underwear in a twist defending the Jokic MVP all they want, you know damn well this is going to be talked about as a miss for a long time, just like Westbrook. People knew it when it happened.

Jokic is an amazing player and at the end of the day there isn't much difference between the best in the league, but it's awkward.

Or just people who can acknowledge greatness and recognize someone being deserving of an award? Not everything has to be controversial Lmao. Some of you try way too hard

The hate Jokic gets here amuses me. The terrible, low-quality anti-Jokic comments make me laugh aloud.

I don't think Jokic was a unanimous MVP of course, and can certainly see the pro-Giannis/Embiid arguments. But the arguments designed to tear down Jokic are so bad and ineffective that it's hilarious.

Comparing the Westbrook MVP to Jokic MVP is laughable.

Jokic put up efficient numbers that pretty much only prime LeBron and prime Shaq matched.

Except you have Joker stans saying he's as good as prime shaq & LeBron. That is the problem with you guys.

Steph and Embiid were better choices.. steph was clearly the mvp he carried the warriors without Klay.. Poole had a breakout season but that’s the thing he didn’t get MIP.. so they take away from Curry’s MVP season?? Doesn’t make any kind of sense

You might be the only guy who thinks Curry had an argument lol. He wasn’t even named a finalist and you somehow think he should’ve won it?

Nobody is going to think this is a miss because Jokic was statistically the clear-cut MVP this year. He didn't score on league average efficiency. He led the league in it.

It's been posted on this board many times, you're an adult you can find it yourself. I'm not running errands for you. Something called the internet as well.

Jokic had a legit case to win MVP. Jokic won MVP.

Why are people upset? Not everyone can win MVP. Some guys who would win in other years lost to a legit candidate. It is what it is.

by all means, explain this one to us. This WAS a weird year, so no matter what it was going to go to a player who doesn't fit the profile. Too many missed games, poor record....all the top guys fit that profile (well jokic played enough games).

In 5 years people are going to look at of these advanced stats the same way that averaging a triple double is seen now.
