It matches up pretty easily. Quantity doesn't mean quality. Smart is at 13 mils a year and first team all-defense, Tatum is by a mile the best young player in the deal and he's done a fairly decent job staying healthy. We have #14 and MEM pick which is nearly for sure bound to be top 10 next year or the year after that which might be top 5.

Based on what though? I think a pretty fair way to look at this is

Ingram = Tatum (I actually have Ingram > Tatum)
#4 > Smart
Lonzo > #14
Kuzma > #20
2021 LAL pick < MEM pick

Tatum ranked 33rd and 81st in RPM the last 2 years. Ingram ranked 317th and 319th. Tatum’s also younger. There’s no way Ingram is a superior asset right now. I’d say it’s more like:

Tatum >>> #4 > Lonzo = Memphis pick > Ingram = Brown > #14 = 2021 Lakers pick > #20 > Smart

If the Lakers were cutthroat they'd trade Lebron and the 4th pick for Davis, and then go after Kyrie in free agency.

Ainge would do it if he was the Lakers GM.

LeBron loves journeymen and they'd still have cap space after the trade so they would have plenty to fill out the roster.

Ya and if Im the Lakers, I would rather go all out with LeBron and AD then do another year of what they did last year. Im not saying the Lakers assets are crap assets either, I just think their games don't fit with LeBron and guys like Ingram and Ball are still in their 1st year of being able to buy alcohol legally.

LeBron, AD and Im assuming some mid tier star (not quite an all star level player) plus a bunch of hand picked old vets. If LeBron is still LeBron, that team won't be a favorite, but they will make some noise.

About the only reason I could find to like this for Boston is Ainge sticking it to LeBron lol

It would be the all-time petty move of the century because I think it would force LeBron to be traded or run the serious risk of clock simply running out on LBJ. Because honestly believe next year is the only one he has enough left in the tank to get them to the finish line.

Have the Pelicans worked anyone out yet? I don't understand why they wouldn't want the 4th pick. Darius Garland is going to be a star in the league.

The 4th pick reportedly isn't going to them.

Tatum is younger, a better shooter, a better athlete, has flashed more star potential, imo will get stronger physically and has shown to be be able to make the big shot. I'd put Smart over Ball, Ball is way too injury prone, Smart's contract is cheap and he shot the 3 around .370 last season which made him respectable in that regard.
Good assessment:

Hawks have expressed interest in Culver from what I've heard. Maybe something like this can catch some traction although it seems unlikely that we'll be able to hold onto Kuz...

Lakers get AD

Hawks get #4

Pelicans get Ingram, Lonzo, #8, and #10

But I'm saying, if I was the Pelicans I'd rather have that 4th pick come directly to me than shipping it out elsewhere.

Age is really not a factor, we are talking like a 6 month difference. Tatum's RPM greatly benefits from the role he was being asked to play and playing on a winning team. Ive seen plenty of both guys, I will take Ingram, I think he has shown more than Tatum has.

With all of that said, I agree that when you throw Brown in there I can see the argument for Boston's trade. Ive said many times I like the idea of pairing Zion with Tatum and Brown. My entire point is without Jaylen Brown, I don't think it adds up and in your list there, you included Jaylen Brown.

Yup as I imagined Kuz is gonna have to go. Gonna be really interested how we fill out the rest of the roster.

Don't know if you're sarcastic or not but the Knicks were bait/leverage.
