Are there things in college that NBA coaches just can't access?

Regular playing time at a decent level?

I think he'll improve by playing in practice with pros.

I do think he's already a good defender, he does have potential to be a great defender.

His offensive side is bad, he just seems like he has no idea what his game should be on that end.

Juzang should start somewhere. Think he is a player, that if you give him mins - he’s going to produce.

Wait until one of those countries buys an NBA team and completely breaks the league's competitiveness by outspending everyone else because they have unlimited money. They then can't be sanctioned by league rules because they can hire the best lawyers and win any legal challenges to their supremacy. Just like in the Big 5 European fútbol leagues.

This isn’t how the league works. If any owner tried to pull this the league would force them to sell the team. You don’t think Steve Ballmer doesn’t have the money to try something like this ($122b net worth)? Every transaction has to go through the league office and they wouldn’t approve any of them. It’s ridiculous to think any team could skirt the rules in the way you’re implying.

In Europe their teams do plenty of similar stuff.
There is a sort of budget-constraint were you can't spend much more than what you earn, so teams like PSG have semi-fake sponsorship deals for huge $ with companies affiliated with team owners (boosting their revenues and thus enabling them to spend more). Similarly with players salaries, where players might get guaranteed "sponsopships" money. Another thing is maintaining "farm" clubs n the leagues without such a budget constraint, that might be able to sell you players under their real values.

Projecting to NBA - it can be under the table/sponsorships money to free agents - and good lawyers might help to explain why your starter resigned for half the previous money, and suddenly has many fans in the Gulf, so in "unrelated" move he has now a $20M a year sponsorship deal with Dubai mall or something. My example is exaggerated, ofc, but you got the idea

Ask Glen Taylor how this worked out for him.

I was very pleased by what i saw last night among Nuggets, TWolves, and Lakers. I'm confident the Nuggets are superior to both teams.

Dillingham 20 FGA in 24 preseason minutes. Already showing what kind of player he'll be.

Are you referring to Dilly who led the MIN bench that absolutely savaged the Lakers bench 85-48? The Dilly who put up this comparative stat line to Knecht?

Dillingham
25 min, 21 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, 1 TO, 45% FG (9-20), 50% 3FG (3-6) and +10

Knecht
25 min, 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 TO's, 53% FG (7-13), 28% 3FG (2-7) and -13

I sure hope you're right that we got a great look at what kind of player Dillingham will be for the Wolves moving forward.

So what you're saying is he was implying that Dilly's performance last night is a sign of good things to come?

Sure thing...I stand corrected.

I get shamet vibes from knecht. Both great college players but the athleticism part is a major issue.

Shamet is athletic though, even in the NBA, he's just not THAT good at anything. He's a good shooter, but not a special shooter. His rookie year was his best 3PT shooting year.

He has good length, but he's combo guard sized without a PG handle and passing ability. He's skinnier and can't match up physically with other players. He can handle, but he's not special as a ball handler. He can get to the basket and finish athletically, but not good enough to get there consistently and not a special finisher. He has not real in between game, no floater, not a mid-range guy.

Knecth is a little taller, if he can play bigger and tougher, he should be able to be a better player. Shamet has managed to get 22 mpg over 5 seasons, and on winning teams. So being Shamet, but just a little better than Shamet can get a guy to be a good consistent rotation NBA player over many years.

Basically if he can be a better 3PT shooter and/or stronger and more physical on defense it would help him a lot. To be fair, Shamet has done well for a 26th pick.

I think Knecth has a more aggressive and stronger offensive game potential. I don't know about his defensive potential, don't know enough.

Portland having some real issues again on injury front. Rob Williams (who should probably just retire, he's physically done) and another shoulder injury from Shaedon Sharpe. This is why they can't just move some of their vets yet (Simons, Ayton, Grant). Guys who were going to be relied upon for minutes can't seem to stay healthy.

No, he pointed to the FGA and is expecting him to be a gunner in the NBA.

This is not a reflection of whether he will be good or bad. That will depend on his efficiency, which you can't tell from a preseason game.

exactly, also it seems like EVERYBODY has forgotten that Bronny was projected as a mid first round pick before the heart issue.

Like, when he was a junior in high school?
