This, but the bigger picture is Irving, who's GONE. Danny not committing too many picks or players, means Irving is gone and Danny has known it for a while.
Good assessment:

the L for the pelicans was the failure to build around AD

they wanted to trade him in a package that involved tatum which would've been a good return

i guess they got the next best deal available, since their hands were tied

I mean... Yes their ceiling is probably a championship but it also has a chance to go horribly wrong. They should be criticized for all the picks.

I will say Lonzo and Zion will likely have some great highlights together if DG doesn't flip Ball somewhere (ie/ PHX or CHI).

Anthony Davis traded but non official; LBJ: tweets within one minute about it
Lebron James decides which team to sign with; LBJ: I’ve decided where to sign. I’ll tell you tomorrow.

Looks like it is three picks, one swap:
19
21 (top 8) or 22 (unprotected)
23 - swap
24 or 25 (unprotected, NO's choice)

So many young guys in NO are going to want to prove themselves.. It could get ugly. Everyone trying to play as the franchise star. Could see them not taking it from a rookie in Zion. Who knows..

A.D was Laker bound next year anyhow , and the Lakers gutted their future because they couldn’t even wait one year.

The KD and Klay injuries, the possibility of Ball ending up on the Bulls, AD on the Lakers, just so much bad news this week

Many of you said that the Lakers young guys were crap. If the Lakers had struck out in free agency along with not getting AD we wouldn't hear the end of the dumpster fire comments. The Lakers have put themselves in a position to win a title. Both teams win in this deal in the sense that their short term goals will be met. We don't know what will happen with the Pelicans picks but RIGHT NOW both teams get what they want.

Anybody who was objective could see this happenning. It was in the works for a while, and it was even more obvious after the lottery. League can't afford to waste LeBron in LA. I'm glad it's finally over. No more excuses for LeBron. He will probably form a third super team now.

I’d be happy and scared if I was a laker fan. They had to get this done, and they did, but they did give up a lot (and this from someone who doesn’t like Ball at all), and it could all derail.

To me, the success of this trades depends entirely on the rest of the roster. If they get decent guys to build around lbj and ad, they’ll be good. If they try to get another max guy, they’ll have to get insanely lucky with the bottom of the barrel guys playing big important minutes (they won’t be able to handle an injury to their top three, and they won’t be able to load manage).

Anyway, makes things interesting.

AD was less "Laker bound" than PG who ended up not being a Laker

PG didn’t have Rich Paul as his agent though.

Gotta do something about that shooting around Zion. Ingram needs the bal. Not the best grouping of players to develop him with.
