Smart decision by Denver GM?

Sources say Nuggets turned down a trade offer earlier this season of Danilo Gallinari for Rudy Gay.

Same production on a cheaper contract. I'd rather have Rudy but wouldn't have done that trade.

Smartest front office move of the year thus far.

No spacing between Iggy and Rudy, smart move.

Obvious rejection is obvious. Gallo is cheaper and better.

Gallo is cheaper, slightly more productive, much more efficient, a better defender, and much younger. It isnt even close.

Gay's the better player, but Gallinari's the better fit at half the price

Gallo's a better fit in Denver's system tbh. Sure, Gay's more athletic, but he's not as efficient a shooter (and having a non-shooter in Iggy weakens their floor spacing).

Gallinari's also a better defender, and he's great at drawing fouls.

Doubt Gallinari could do what Gay's doing in Toronto right now. Come in and be the man and #1 option while leading them to a 6-2 record.

They sent away Jose Calderon. I'm surprised they're not 8-0

What Gallo is doing in 2013, is definitely better than anything that Gay showed in his NBA career. Better defender, better passer, better shooter, much more efficient scorer, taking care of the ball a lot better. But he still have to show he's that player now. He cannot slip, he was always a good, all-star caliber player imo, but he was also very inconsistent.

His best games are amazing, like last night, he really was like a Lebron-light out there, scoring, shooting, passing, defending, did everything at a high level, no wonder he finished the night with 25/5/5 statline (1 turnover), and +20 +- rating, in a close game. But he can't/aren't willing to do that every night yet, and we talked about that on these forums, it is because he's sometimes too unselfish.

Gallo is clearly the 1st option in Denver right now.

Because Gallo's too busy being the #1 option on a playoff team.

Anyway, when you think about the the wins really aren't that impressive:
Clippers looked lost without CP3
Pacers beat themselves with that stupid move West did. If he didn't do that Raps would have lost.
Hornets are a lottery team
Denver was missing Gallo and Iggy, Corey Brewer might have been their #2/#3 option
Knicks were just lost out there, missing tons of layups. If Alan Anderson didn't have a career night it still probably would have been a L
Washington is a lottery team

Denver was smart to reject that trade, Gallo has been also pretty clutch throughout his career.

Gallo is definitely the better player.
And LOL@ "Gay being the man and leading the raptors to a 6-2 record" being the deciding factor

Sure, but Gallinari has a ton of help and sharing the workload with guys like Lawson, Iguodala, Faried. My point is, if you swapped Gallinari for Gay on the Raptors right now, Raptors would be worse. Both guys are putting up very similar stats for the season, so not sure how people can say that Gallinari is clearly the better player. And that's with Gay struggling with his shot and having one of his worst seasons, while Gallinari is having a career year.

Are you kidding me? Rudy Gay has had 3 or 4 seasons better than what Gallinari is putting up this year.
