Mavericks Underrated

Post#1 » by RelativeZdot » Fri Apr 11, 2008 4:42 am

I think they are and im not a fan by any means.

*The balance they have is very solid
*Dirk is playin better than ever. His body language says so too.
*Jason Kidd is gelling into their offense and has the fullcourt vision to help them get easier buckets than they have in transition.
*They have proven playoff scorers in Dirk, Terry, Howard, and Stack.
*They have finally showed some resilliency as this season has come to a close.

Prediction- If they dont have to play the lakers i could see them winning the west.

I'd love to play the spurs in the 1st round. They, and Houston, are the best matchups Dallas can hope for. But I don't want to see LA. I want to see Phoenix-LA somehow....like their current standings 3rd vs 6th.

Yeah, and I didn't see Warriors beating Dallas last year.

This is the year Spurs are bumped in the 1st round..unless they play Denver or Houston.

I like the Mavs, they're built pretty good right now and will most likely give either San Antonio or the Lakers a lot of trouble. New Orleans better not falter right now cause I could see them gettin beat by the Mavs.

I fear Utah more than I do the Spurs. Not saying the Jazz are better than the Spurs, but matchup-wise, I'd much, much rather play the Spurs.

Well I wouldn't go as far as say they will win the west.

Mavs still have a lot of weaknesses (from a Mavs fan POV here). Defense, offense down the stretch and coaching are still issues.

Just depends on how well they play. Still too much reliance on Dirk IMO. If Josh Howard, Terry, Kidd and a key bench player all play well, then they can be a threat.

They are underrated somewhat, but I think it'd be stupid to underestimate a team with Kidd, Dirk, Howard, Terry and other solid role players..

I mean you never thought the Warriors would beat the mavs but now you believe the Spurs can't beat the Mavs... great stuff. Well when you put it like that it makes perfect sense...

Yes it does since Warriors with Jason richardson has always been a thorn in our side and the Spurs aren't.
