Feel sorry for Grant Hill

Post#1 » by JordansBulls » Wed Apr 23, 2008 5:04 am

The guy is one of the nicest guys in the league and he went to Phoenix a team that is a title contender and yet he may not even make it out of the first round. That's intriguing because he has been in the league for such a long time and he has never even made it out of the 1st round.

Ok, if we go around feeling sorry for everyone, RealGM will probably go down.

I don't. He took $100 million from Orlando without giving them a healthy season, then bolts the second his contract comes up, at the time when they need him most because they're finally beginning to contend again.

he deserves it. It was his choice to leave Orlando, a team seemingly destined to at least escape the first round, and has the potential to go farther (although not overly likely).

He told Orlando he would like to come back for the vet min. and then ditched them. It was his choice to leave and thats the decision he will have to live with. How you can feel bad for someone that chose to go to the destination where he won't succeed at?

Grant Hill had many options while he was a free agent. He decided Phoenix was the best place for him, and his stats continued to impress. I don't feel sorry for him at all. He could have easily decided to play for an Eastern Conference team which would have raised his odds.

As long as Grant's a Sun, I don't want him to come close to winning a ring, so I hope he never wins at this point.

Considering the amount of money he's made and how little of it he's actually earned...eh no.

I'll never understand why people feel sorry for these millionaire athletes.

He choked on the game winning shot, nothing to feel about for him.

has anyone ever heard Dom Irrera's bit about "athletes that deserve rings" LOL it's some funny ****..it's from the early 90's..

"I love sports, but think about putting things in perspective..people were ACTUALLY feeling bad for Michael Jordan last year//I like Michael Jordan, but people were really like "man, Michael really deserves a championship, doesn't he?"..deserves? guy makes millions OUTSIDE of basketball..what about my cousin Delores, who's husband left her broke with 6 kids? you think she deserves a little piece of jewelery in life?..

people in Bangladesh, their houses are getting flooded away..they're like "oh, that was my baby that just drowned...but that Jordan really deserved that ring!"..I love when they say, "he works hard"..he works hard, my ass..he plays BASKETBALL..basketball ain't like work work..I know, I love basketball..work is when you get up at 6 in the morning, you take your peanut butter and jelly sandwhich, you're looking for a spot on your wife's acne-filled face to kiss and then you wait for Mo and Curly to come pick you up in 20 degrees..that's **** work..basketball?"

Yeah, but if you think that way you'll never end feeling sorry for somebody. For every ugly situation there is, there's another one worse. And another one worse than the last, and so on. I think it's safe to say that the OP is talking about NBA players.

Personally I don't feel sorry for Hill, despite how nice he is. High salary, good family, good education, and he left the Magic when he got healthy. I feel more sorry for those who play with intensity and work hard on their game without winning anything; guys like pre-Boston KG, Dirk, Kidd, Nash, Stockton, Malone, etc.
