Feel sorry for Grant Hill
The guy is one of the nicest guys in the league and he went to Phoenix a team that is a title contender and yet he may not even make it out of the first round. That's intriguing because he has been in the league for such a long time and he has never even made it out of the 1st round.

he deserves it. It was his choice to leave Orlando, a team seemingly destined to at least escape the first round, and has the potential to go farther (although not overly likely).
He told Orlando he would like to come back for the vet min. and then ditched them. It was his choice to leave and thats the decision he will have to live with. How you can feel bad for someone that chose to go to the destination where he won't succeed at?

Grant Hill had many options while he was a free agent. He decided Phoenix was the best place for him, and his stats continued to impress. I don't feel sorry for him at all. He could have easily decided to play for an Eastern Conference team which would have raised his odds.
As long as Grant's a Sun, I don't want him to come close to winning a ring, so I hope he never wins at this point.

Yeah, but if you think that way you'll never end feeling sorry for somebody. For every ugly situation there is, there's another one worse. And another one worse than the last, and so on. I think it's safe to say that the OP is talking about NBA players.
Personally I don't feel sorry for Hill, despite how nice he is. High salary, good family, good education, and he left the Magic when he got healthy. I feel more sorry for those who play with intensity and work hard on their game without winning anything; guys like pre-Boston KG, Dirk, Kidd, Nash, Stockton, Malone, etc.
