Nah, I mean, again. Robinson was in his second season, so his rep wasn't there to quite the same strength as later. And while Olajuwon was right there in the running from 88-91. Also again, Rodman probably didn't deserve either of those DPOYs to begin with, because he was a wing version of like Sidney Moncrief. He was always more of a man-on defender than a team defender.
That said and regardless, having ONE competitor is very different than having three. Olajuwon was a 2-time DPOY guy, Mutombo 4 and Robinson won one as well. It's a very different story competing with all three of them at the same time (setting aside health and such) than it is with just one.
This is pretty obvious stuff.
