He barely scores more ppg than Poole in much more minutes on much worse efficiency:
Klay: 19.8 ppg on 57.5 TS% in 35.1 mpg
Poole: 18.4 ppg on 67.3 TS% in 30.1 mpg
Then there is Wiggins who averages 16 ppg as well. If you feel forced to use rigid structures like "second option", then technically Klay is the 2nd scorer on Warriors team, but the truth is that they have 3 players scoring within 16-20 ppg range on a given night around Steph.
His defense is still there, they are just protecting him more. He can lock down when he needs to.
Well, he hasn't shown any signs of that so far and it's not like they weren't in moments when they needed that - Morant destroyed Warriors defense before the injury.
Green is great for what he does, but he is not their second best player, his offense isn't good enough. He is a fifth scoring option. He is a playmaking genius, but somebody needs to put the ball through the basket.
As always, you don't take into account Warriors defense... which has been just as important for their success as their offense. Green is clearly Warriors 2nd best player this year, just like in 2015 and 2016.
