My daughter got sick I didn't follow it for a couple of days and Luka happens! When is he gonna play now?

Brown has to be a trade for Rui and Wood, to open up a roster spot in the process.
Yeah maybe. We will see I guess. 10 hours to go.
My read is that Lakers are going in on efficient offense with great rebounding. Similar to what Cavs did with Lebron-Love-TT in 2015-2018.
Just being great at rebounding is a form of defense, an OREB is as good as a steal and a DREB ends an opponent possession. So I think this team will still have a middle of the range D-rating.
PG: Reaves (28) | Vincent (20)
SG: Doncic (36) | Reaves (7) | DFS (5)
SF: DFS (27) | Rui (21)
PF: LeBron (35) | Rui (13)
C : Williams (26) | Vando (22)
This seems like a 8-man rotation team.
Add in Wood-Hayes-Bronny.
We have Milton, who’ll feature a lot more than Bronny but that guard rotation is still short one.

Yeah they will go for a guard via buyout. Maybe they go for 2 and waive Markieff.

DFS (25) / Vando (18) / Rui (5)
Lebron (34) / Rui (14)
Williams (26) / Hayes (18) / Rui (4)

EmpireFalls wrote:Mark’s defense is not versatile at all, he can only really drop, and he has high hips. Doesn’t have much core or leg strength, gets pushed around. This is not a Jokic stopper.
He does have potential - real potential - on that end, with an insane 9’9” standing reach and great mobility at times. I think he will be good but not this year. Needs a few offseasons and strength training blocks.
He will feast on lobs and offensive boards. Amazing play finisher. Yall got a great player. I’m gonna cry myself to sleep
He’s an interesting player when looking at his FT shooting and passing instincts as he could develop further as an offensive player.
The defense is a concern because aside from what you mentioned, he doesn’t have good defensive instincts and is slow to react to rotations, i.e., the death knell for all below average defensive bigs in the pace and space era. Basically, there isn’t a single good/plus defender relative to position big who starts off with negative instincts regardless of physical tools. That is worrisome, BUT he’s interesting in the sense that he’s not that bad when most negative defensive bigs are glaringly bad in the pace and space era. He seems coachable and the hope could be that the Hornets weren’t close to winning and would not be focusing on micro-winning player development while the Lakers would. Might be a reach in that sense.

Lakers can't really expand the deal this way, but move assets from one deal to another and do a separate with Charlotte trading Maxi for Okogie.

Mos_Heat wrote:nzahir wrote:Mos_Heat wrote:You want Jason Hayes as a backup behind they guy who has missed more than 50% games in his career?
They would have to trade a swap directly or trade it for a couple of 2nds
Hayes was kinda killing it vs the Clippers tbh...
I think we should hold some assets, there is still the summer and the future
Also would like to know if Wood is coming back. That is another big
Can move Maxi for Landale if needed, but looking to move Maxi for a guy like Thybulle
And how woudl you even want to acquire Sharpe salary wise. Cant combine Kieff or Milton.
So its either Maxi and find a 3rd team, or Hayes+Wood (so back to just 2 bigs total now with Williams and Sharpe)
They don't have assets to move Kleber, so yeah it's Hayes-Wood combo
We can take on someone with an extra year or someone who is worse and I think a team would do it
Not a lot out there though
Okogie
If Cavs are going for a betetr SF like CamJ and want to get weird and move Okoro then he can be a option
Boucher
Not even sure if Thybulle is legal. He makes 25k more. I know you cant take more in if above 1st apron, but I read someone once say you can take 250k more, is that true?
So potenially better of keeping him or getting under 1st apron if you get some intel about some buyouts
Edit:
Davion Mitchell just moved for a 2nd....that would have been nice too

Re: The LeBron James and Luka Doncic - 24-25 Thread
So Rob cooked this deadline
Only nitpicky thing was trying to move Kleber+2nd/swap for any useful 2/3 or 1/2 that can defend
Someone like Cody Martin, Haywood Highsmith, Davion Mitchell
Or move him off and get below 1st apron for a buyout guy
O well, maybe this summer or next year and can be combined with others
I know Dallas wanted Max, but man I wish we were somehow able to give them the last 1st instead and use Knecht for say Dayron Sharpe and 1-2 2nds.
Christie is legit the perfect 3&d guard net to Luka, Bron, DFS, and a C
Crazy that Ham never gave him a shot, wish we could have seen him develop here, but o well we got LUKA
Now its on to the buyout market.....who makes sense?
Chris Duarte?
Springer from Boston?

I like Springer as the buyout guy. Young POA defender with untapped potential. Whoever they target should be an SG defender.

Starting to get really excited actually. People like to act like LeBron is fading away just because he’s 40 and in year 22, but he’s absolutely been a top 5-10 player after a slow start. He’s easily the best player Luka has ever played with. The two of them are going to absolutely feast on defenses.

I mean, they're largely griefing his defense.
Offensively, he had a decent start to the season, a down December when he couldn't hit a 3, and has been killing it in the new year.
We'll see what those two look like together on O, and what that does to the team's defense.

40 year old LeBron making plays all over the court sinking 3 after 3 juxtaposed with blown layups from Steph and Draymond on consecutive possessions has me dying

It’s gotta suck to be a lebron hater. Every year you think this is the year he’ll be washed. Every year he’s still a top 5-10 player. This is year 22 when you’re the GOAT.

The defense the last few games has been absolutely stellar, including from him.

This is some of the worst transition defense I've ever seen
