Jordan KNEW when his team was in trouble if he didn't dominate with his scoring.
Yes I hear you, but thats the beauty about LeBron (even moreso than Jordan).. when he's at his best, he can be scoring at will WHILE also setting up teammates.
I feel that last night it wasn't as much him 'not sensing' that he needed to take over, he just couldn't for a number of reasons: 1) Spurs were blitzing him whenever he put the ball on the floor 2) While clearly not wanting him to drive, his defender would give him space daring him to hit a jumper.. and he just couldn't. By the 3rd quarter he realized he needed to get something going if Miami was gonna hang around, but he just couldn't hit a shot. He took plenty, he just couldnt score.
Jordan even had nights like that in the finals though where his FG% was really low, but Jordan was able to still get his 20+ thanks to free throws, which for some inexplicable reason, the refs are not giving LeBron any. Granted he's not driving as much because of the defense SA is playing, but still.. he has been in heavy traffic begging for calls at times and the refs are not giving the best player in the game anything/[/quote]
They both set up their teammates. The difference is that Jordan would bail out from scoring and passes the ball when he had no other alternative while LeBron bails out from passing and scores when passing options aren't there. Part of the problem is his mid-range game/pullup game ain't a layup to LeBron but it was a layup to Jordan. People think because players extend to 3 range that they are better. Really, they are not. They are lost mid-range.
