Re: Who would win MVP? Hypothetical
Games played? Defensive rep for players other than E? Turnovers? Attitude? Impact stats?
All else being roughly equal and with only the data shown, leaning player A with E as his main competitor.

Player A - 78 games, great guard defender
Player B - 78 games, great guard defender
Player C - 76 games, not that great of a defender, but gets rebounds.
Player D - 70 games, below average reputation for his position
Player E - 82 games, all time generational defender as his reputation
Impact stats on offense
D, A, C, B, E
Impact stats on defense
E >> B, C, A, D
Player B - 78 games, great guard defender

These are real players, no?
I think I know who and what seasons they all are, but I don't want to ruin the game.

Re: Who would win MVP? Hypothetical
Hard to do this via numbers alone but super efficient 35 PPG on a 67 win team is a safe bet, give me A

Main thing missing for me is strength of supporting cast. But can't really boil that down to a number. I suppose you could argue wins are a decent proxy but still. Also just watching the players play is naturally going to give you more information, especially with defense. But I think you just about saturated what information could realistically be given so it's a fine exercise for what it is.

Player A - one all star team mate
Player B - one 3rd team all nba team mate
Player C - one all star team mate, another all nba 3rd team year prior
Player D - no all star team mates
Player E - one teammate made all star game year prior

Re: Who would win MVP? Hypothetical
Even though I would probably have voted differently for MVP if I had a vote from the start of NBA history, I tend to side with the traditions we have as everyone's legacies are built on those sometimes misguided but mostly right traditions. As such, Player A since that's basically Shai and he should win this year.

Re: Who would win MVP? Hypothetical
With that extra information, it's even more clearly A and E from the numbers given, with a slight edge to A for that win total with one all-star teammate.

Both 2025 and MVP races sure were interesting
From the information given, I'd go Sh... I mean, A.

This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

Re: Who would win MVP? Hypothetical
To me, Player D has the nicest box-score stats, but as already pointed out, what's the defense like for both.
Box-score stats also miss how certain styles on offense can be very advantageous but don't necessarily show-up in box-score production. Curry is a great example of this.
Assuming defensive ability and style between everyone here is equal, then I would have Player D #1, and Player A #2. Player D has the nicest box-score stats to me.
That doesn't mean he would win MVP or should.
An example:
I would say by the basic box without using any box-score metrics or all-in-ones, Lebron could be argued for MVP as early as 05. Don't think he really had RS MVP impact until 06. By the basic box, he looks like the guy in 07 and 08, even though, because of PPG, RPG, APG split, but I would pick different people those years.
There isn't an MVP I would definitively award him until 09.

So part of me wanted to check the narrative of team wins = MVP, as Player C won MVP, so should Player A.
But another part wanted to see if Player E’s peak was surpassed by player D’s peak. They’re vastly different centers, but will likely end up near each other on all time lists.
