Hawks rankings
Field Goal Percentage 15th
Free Throw Percentage 14th
This team can get in the top 10 in both. If they do, it's going to be a problem for the East.
The New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls are the only two East teams in the top 10 in both.

Re: Hawks -- State of the Franchise
After last nights games, the Hawks are currently:
#2 in assists
#2 in steals
#4 in rebounds
....in the NBA
just a few interesting stats to go with our 6 game win streak

Re: Hawks -- State of the Franchise
It is so evident that the Hawks are third tier team talent wise. That is why this will take time and development is key to that happening. We have:
All-star tier: Trae
Knocking at the door all-star tier: JJ
Decent starters tier: Hunter / DD
Solid 2nd team tier: CC / OO / Bog
Potential tier: Ris
Deep bench: Gary
This is not a win now team. Everything needs to be geared towards improving this talent situation. Trades, draft and especially development
CC / Nance / Bog are not keepers because of age and contribution.
I only listed 8 players in my tiers because that's really all we have. A lot of work to do to build this team around Trae / JJ / DD / Ris / Hunter

Agree that we are lacking in top end talent.
Disagree we are not a win now team.
We are currently a half game out of 5th place -- with huge wins over the top 3 teams in the conference.
Our issue: we're trying to walk two paths at once.
- Our top players are all 5+ year vets.
- But we're giving developmental minutes to flawed players not yet ready for prime time.

What do you think that they can win?

The Atlanta Sports special, TB...
Hawks can reasonably win the worst division in the NBA and a favorable 1st round match up.

IDK, man.
Hawks have shown enough flashes to indicate they are capable of something special.

I love what they're doing and I was seeing this potential after the DD trade and drafting Ris #1
When I say win, I mean win it all.
I predicted 46 wins, 10 more than Vegas and have been talking patience and growth. Still am
Now if they want to make a run in the playoffs, I'm all for it
I don't even see a trade out there other than Zeller for a depth player. The only C that might be available that interests me is Poetl and TOR doesn't seem to want to move him. Free agency for centers looks terrible this offseason.
Really need to draft a good one to back up OO

As far as I'm concerned, the Jalen injury changes nothing in the short term.
We plan on competing for a play off spot while developing young players along the way.

They won't be massive sellers, but they won't be aggressive buyers either. They'll make a trade around the edges like they always do mid-season.
