Doug Collins is clearly the more nurturing but indulgent father figure while Hubbie Brown is more stern. So subconciously Pierce is trying to score alot in front of Doug to impress him and get taken out for ice cream after the game, but in front of Hubbie he knows that a modest but efficient night is the way to not get a beating.
