-I entirely agree with your last point Pete. Gerald hasn't spent his time working on the right things.

I follow Gerald because I believe players are a product of their environments for the most part. There are exceptional guys, the LeBron's, Kobe's etc who would have been successful no matter where they'd gone, but I think the vast majority of the NBA is full of guys who could have been out of the league if they had ended up in bad situations. I still think GG has a few tools that can make him a solid player in this league, so I'm of the belief that if he ends up with the right coach, the right team, he'll be a contributor.

He couldn't do anything.

Bad at rebounding, Bad at assists, Horrid Defender, Awful Dribbler...

GeraldGreen poster.. Do you realize that Ainge picks guys from college that excel in many areas. That is how he finds the Rondo's and Al Jefersons.

AGAIN, Ainge picks guys that excel in many areas. Gerald sucks in most areas other than shooting/dunking.

Ainge picked Gerald as well? And you're right that Gerald sucks at all those things, but he can still shoot and he can still get out on the break, and a lot of guys have made careers of that in certain systems.

LOL. Point and laugh. What is your obsession with this horrid basketball player? You should get some counseling. Will you stop watching the L when he is out of it in 2 years? LOL

I suppose when the Celtics suck and you're following them everyone should point and laugh at you? Will you stop watching the league when the Celtics rebuild?
I like to follow a player's career as much as I do a team, it's more interesting for me, as teams are becoming nothing but a group of mercenaries to me these days. Yah, Gerald's hit a rough spot in his career, but I'd truly deserve to be laughed at if I just hopped off the bandwagon because of it. But yah, shame on me for supporting and defending a player that gets endlessly criticized around here.

Actually, you get laughed at because you persist in defending a player who's now proven at four stops he's an incompetent NBA player.

This is another example of why I loathe David Stern. People have lost all understanding of intelligent team basketball, and instead stick to this senseless loyalty to players who simply cannot play.

Thanks, Stern.

In the meantime, Gerald Green, just go away.

So I take it you laugh at Clipper fans as well? Their franchise has proven to have basically no hope, yet they continue to root for them and support them.

I guess it's only cool to root for the superstars. Shame on me for supporting someone who's struggled. It's absolutely pathetic that so many feel the need to pile on a player just because he's been a disappointment relative to their expectations. People give me **** for posting related to Gerald, but I only come around here with that when people start posting something negative regarding Gerald. If it wasn't for people like Pete and Recruiter and so on posting negative things about Gerald, I'd post NOTHING here, other than perhaps answering a question if someone was curious about how his career has been going.

Also Pete, you're wrong about Gerald not focusing on his weaknesses. Gerald DID focus on his weaknesses, and that was one of his bigger problems. He went from being an awful ball handler to a slightly better than awful ball handler, instead of focusing on his strengths like shooting and developing into more of a specialist who could play a role, Gerald tried to develop an all around game, and quite frankly at his development stage in relation to his age, it was way too late for him to do that. He spent the vast majority of his 2nd offseason in the league trying to develop a handle, and the result was a slightly improved but still not NBA caliber handle that he generally tried to force using in game.

I think Gerald could be a good contributer to a team like the Warriors who play an uptempo style offense. Gerald is a good man defender, but a bad team defender. In a couple of years when the team changes I would love to see him come back and play along with Giddens, TA, Walker, and Rondo in an uptempo style as we transition to a new era.
