just like if utah was going to trade their first round draft pick from this past draft they would move him out of their division at least right? .... damnit wrong again
anyway the lakers people have already said that the lakers dont want to take on hinrich's deal, im sure the bulls wouldnt prefer to move him to a team in conference, but its not the nfc east in the nfl or sox yankees, nba teams trade in conference all the time, because the fact is it doesnt matter as much in the nba becuase soo many teams make the playoffs that the likelyhood of actually playing against the guy is decreased
and no way would you use the same logic if this were a clippers player you wanted
Big difference. Memphis was tanking, Lakers were contending, they wouldn't get in eachothers way. Chicago, however, is only trading Hinrich to become a contender next year with the signing of Bosh or Lebron by pairing them up with Noah and Rose (be a pretty scary team btw). The celtics are also contenders; if the choice became trading him out west to a team (plenty of teams out west would give expirings for him) / trading him to a bottom feeder (very unlikely) or trading him to a contender, the bulls would choose the former every time.
Can the celtics get him? Yes, but only if there the only team to bid for him.
