Right? What's the point of paying for a 1 year flight risk of Kawhi if you don't even have the assets to make a run at a championship.
Rozier
Hayward/Brown
Tatum
Kawhi
Horford
We'd be vastly better off trading Brown and keeping Irving if we were going to do it to make a run
Irving
Hayward
Tatum
Kawhi
Horford
That's at least 2 dead lock all-stars, Hayward might need the first few months before he plays at all-star level. And then Horford as well as hopefully Tatum if he develops tremendously would be two close to all-star level players.
We need AT LEAST that much starting lineup talent if we're going to honestly try and matchup against a Curry/KD/Klay/Green/Cousins starting 5. Which honestly is so absurd there's no reason for us to even make a Kawhi trade and go for it all anymore. Probably in our best interest to wait another year, hope we resign our guys and maybe Klay or KD leaves GS. At the very least Cousins will be gone.
