It is the best, most comprehensive look at the Celtics regarding their financial status (cap and luxury tax), and how it impacts the draft and the situation with Gordon Hayward. Based on this, it doesn't look likely that we will be using all the draft picks to add more players to the team. More likely that some or all of the picks will be traded. Anyway, the article offers some interesting scenarios.

Danny's hubris won't allow him to move on from any of the disastrous picks from last season. So if it comes down to him choosing a far superior prospect in this draft resulting in him needing to drop/trade the player(s) chosen in last year's draft, and trading the pick, he's going to trade the pick. He wants the illusion of a war chest so it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he traded one, two or all three of the first rounders for 2021 picks and just used the 2nd rounder to choose a player. On one hand, the 2021 class is incredible and more picks in it is a good thing. On the other, if he drafted well in this draft class we could fill all the holes we have with FA losses and last year's bad draft picks which would fix our horrible bench and prepare us for impending losses like Hayward and Theis.
There's history to back this up. He took the severely underwhelming Jordan Mickey and RJ Hampton in 2015 and still had James Young from the 2014 draft when we entered the 2016 draft loaded with 5 of the first 35 picks and 7 picks overall in a similarly deep draft as this one. He laughably claimed there was a roster crunch so he took Yabusele and Zizic as draft and stashes and traded the #30 and #35 picks. Hilariously, after the draft when asked why he didn't take a PG with the #3 pick he claimed he was set at PG. But he actually took Demetrius Jackson in the 2nd round and gave him a guaranteed contract so he was completely full of shite. Of course, none of the sycophants in the Celtics media would call him on it.
Within a year Mickey, Hampton and Young were all let go. Players Danny passed on because of some made up roster crunch? Caris LeVert, Malcolm Brogdon, Dejounte Murray, Pascal Siakam and Ivica Zubac. It's incredible how Danny can screw up this bad and still have defenders lining up to make excuses for him. I can't wait to hear them when he does something like this again in this draft. I have a feeling that if he does, and ownership has to watch guys Danny passed on one more time, succeed elsewhere, they'll be fed up enough to move on from him, especially because if he does, our bench will still be terrible and we'll have no shot at a title.
I suppose people will start to care about your opinion once any of the scrubs you hype to the sky actually pan out..
