I'm not sure they will. This could be more about Riley trying to hurt the Celtics rather than helping the Heat. Pat knows the Cs are the Heat's greatest threat in the East. Makes sense to make a play for Allen even if it means he doesn't get a lot of playing time in Miami. Think about it, they already have a ton of good 3 point shooters, most of whom are equal to or better than Allen defensively. What do they really need him for?
None of their shooters have an all-time record attached to them? If you want to look at field goal percentages, go ahead, because Allen is running through a hundred screens to take a tough 3 in Boston, whereas the Miami shooters just stand in the corner or on the wing and wait. Allen's 3 point percentage in Miami could very easily be a career high.
