Miami can offer more minutes.

I'm not sure they will. This could be more about Riley trying to hurt the Celtics rather than helping the Heat. Pat knows the Cs are the Heat's greatest threat in the East. Makes sense to make a play for Allen even if it means he doesn't get a lot of playing time in Miami. Think about it, they already have a ton of good 3 point shooters, most of whom are equal to or better than Allen defensively. What do they really need him for?

None of their shooters have an all-time record attached to them? If you want to look at field goal percentages, go ahead, because Allen is running through a hundred screens to take a tough 3 in Boston, whereas the Miami shooters just stand in the corner or on the wing and wait. Allen's 3 point percentage in Miami could very easily be a career high.

What makes people think Ray is gonna get the open looks Battier, Miller, and Chalmers get..?

If I had to guess, I would say Ray going to Miami would help LeBron/Wade more than it would help Allen.

People aren't gonna leave Ray open.

Not meant to offend anyone but I'll believe it when I see it. The only inside source you can trust is Ray Allen himself.

ESPN says Ray hasn't eliminated the Suns yet- send him there for Robin Lopez and a 1st. Keep Pietrus cheap. Win.

But those are the ones he always misses.

I think that is what is happening as well, although I also feel like MP will eventually stay for the minimum.

Ray has got to understand that being insulted by a trade or benching so much so that u wont to play for your team's rival isn't a smart rational decision. For goodness sake, Pierce could have been had for a lotto pick. KG was shopped for Josh Smith. Rondo was all but traded for Chris Paul. Infact if Chris Paul wanted to be here, Rondo would have been long gone.

GET OVER IT RAY.

We want you on our team. The contract is proof of that.

1. Home is here.
2. His boy is used to the hospitals here for medical.
3. His friends/teammates are here
4. He is an integral part of the team and an Icon in Boston Sports.

5. HE ALREADY HAS A CHAMPIONSHIP.

This hasn't been said enough. He already felt the thrill of winning a title and I promise you Ray, winning one down there won't feel nearly as good. The fans here CARE. We will cheer you even in defeat. We will celebrate you for the rest of time if you are part of another Celtics Championship.

Its about the journy, not the destination. Id rather fail with my Brothers, then celebrate in their face as a role player.

Amen.

wow. well said my man. completely agree!!

rayray doesn't strike me as the kind of douche that miami attracts.

I hope Ray feels the same. Our team is special and it showed that its still a top team so why leave? Everyone is back and MORE! Green, Terry added in is going to be huge.

Man it sounds kinda silly to say, but isn't that the truth..?

Why would you want to play with your hated rivals, instead of going to battle with your brothers? These guys have been through everything these past 5 years, including a championship. STAY AT HOME,RAY.

Anyone with a spine would rather fight the side they believe in than join a decided enemy. I don't think its silly at all. And its not blind loyalty either.

Il make it clear, Ray owes the Celtics nothing. He owes his teammates another shot.

Agreed. I think he just wants to feel wanted/needed after almost being traded. In the end, hopefully he does sign here. Wouldn't mind us picking up Camby as well.
