**** Ray. I don't care about the whole "he can go where he wants", f/a thing. He joined the enemy after we just had lost by 1 game to them. He's a disgrace to Celtic nation and i'm glad he's not wearing the green anymore. Glad we got Jet now.

But according to a league source, Allen’s request from the Celtics went beyond the pale - reportedly a demand for a three-year, $27 million contract. The Celtics, according to the source, were in the process of attempting to talk Allen down from $9 million to $6 million per year.

Come on Ray, 3yr/27mil? Get outta here with that delusional mind frame. Good riddance.

If what the league source is saying is truth then Ray Allen NEVER had any intention of coming back. He knew the C's were never going to give him that much.

I hate to break it to you, but Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers are a lot more classy than most of you guys. So if you're expecting them to do something to publicly disrespect Ray, then you're in for a disappointment.

Maybe I am missing something, but I don't consider Ray and all-time great Celtic. He spent 5 years here. He's more UConn and Connecticut than Celtics IMO.

I don't care about legacy or anything. I care about winning. This one hurts, because it hurts us winning. But, if we traded him to Memphis and then he signed with the Heat, would that be the same legacy stainer?

At 37, he can do what he wants. I am more pissed off at the roster hole, but, it does open up a starting SG slot.

Bradley is the starting SG - if he misses the first month of the season or is ready by training camp. This does give the team the option of pushing Pierce down to the SG spot situationally, which will increase Green's minutes.

That's what I was thinking too, but I don't like it. They need a more classic SG IMO. Bradley is a terrific defender, and flashed some potential, but that's big risk with a veteran team to rely on a third year combo guard who showed improvement, but still isn't there yet.

This team needs scoring and shooting, not sure Bradley can provide it at enough volume yet. Maybe he can, I like Bradley. But, he's out anyway and that's a major problem.

Well, the team has a 3 guard rotation of Terry/Bradley/Rondo who can all score. They have Green/Sullinger/Bass who all score as well - I don't think Ray's scoring will be as missed as his "clutch" play ability.

The big thing is depth - Pieteus probably comes back which improves the defense, but if there is an injury to the main rotation, it really sucks. I do think Bradley's 15ppg on 59% TS was really encouraging as a starter for a 6 week stretch. I'd expect his offense to increase this year with a faster paced team.

First, using "gay" as a slur is pretty much self-evidently bigotry. Second, if only having to find a different adjective to insult basketball players on a message board were the worst of all our troubles, life would be pretty great.

He better get boo'd hard when he comes to Boston.

This definitely means he either has a crazy beef with Danny Ainge or Rondo, or perhaps something with both.

He couldn't have left just for the golf and being closer to Lebron's spotlight. If so, how can he be anything more than a clown?

Not only that but this dude is literally a Rat in that Heat-Celtics rivalry now. I can't believe how whack of a person Ray is.

I should've known. Donny Marshall is boys with this dude.

If there is a silver lining, please let it be that Donny is Done-y on CSN.

Not delusional at all. If he is asking for that money he obviously had no desire to play here at all. He knew all along he was going to play for the heat.

There never would've been a game seven if Ray Allen would've decided to have shown up after game two.

Right, because Kevin Garnett and everyone else on the Celtics roster had a fantastic series. Seriously, Celtic fans were desperate for Ray to stay just 2 hours ago and now that he's gone he cost us a championship in 2010.

KG was still recovering from the knee injury.

What is funny is Heat fans thinking Ray Allen guarantees them a ring next season. They are going to be royally pissed watching him play defense on a nightly basis. And without Rondo feeding him off the peak-a-boo offense I don't see Ray being that effective.

Sometimes the grass isn't greener Ray.

For real I won't be able to stand listening to Donny "massage" Ray's ego over the Celtics airwaves any longer.
