But according to a league source, Allen’s request from the Celtics went beyond the pale - reportedly a demand for a three-year, $27 million contract. The Celtics, according to the source, were in the process of attempting to talk Allen down from $9 million to $6 million per year.
Come on Ray, 3yr/27mil? Get outta here with that delusional mind frame. Good riddance.

Maybe I am missing something, but I don't consider Ray and all-time great Celtic. He spent 5 years here. He's more UConn and Connecticut than Celtics IMO.
I don't care about legacy or anything. I care about winning. This one hurts, because it hurts us winning. But, if we traded him to Memphis and then he signed with the Heat, would that be the same legacy stainer?
At 37, he can do what he wants. I am more pissed off at the roster hole, but, it does open up a starting SG slot.
Bradley is the starting SG - if he misses the first month of the season or is ready by training camp. This does give the team the option of pushing Pierce down to the SG spot situationally, which will increase Green's minutes.
That's what I was thinking too, but I don't like it. They need a more classic SG IMO. Bradley is a terrific defender, and flashed some potential, but that's big risk with a veteran team to rely on a third year combo guard who showed improvement, but still isn't there yet.
This team needs scoring and shooting, not sure Bradley can provide it at enough volume yet. Maybe he can, I like Bradley. But, he's out anyway and that's a major problem.

There never would've been a game seven if Ray Allen would've decided to have shown up after game two.
Right, because Kevin Garnett and everyone else on the Celtics roster had a fantastic series. Seriously, Celtic fans were desperate for Ray to stay just 2 hours ago and now that he's gone he cost us a championship in 2010.

KG was still recovering from the knee injury.
