Toronto is a weird mention in that they really can’t construct a decent offer.

They've shown they were willing to move Quickley for KD.

I think there is a good chance this turns into a 3+ team trade by July 6th and Simons never officially becomes a Celtic

Use some of these useless second round picks that are piling up.

The idea is to shave at least a few mils, otherwise trading him is meaningless.
Good assessment:

If so many teams on interested is true, then no way. Should boston have to use an acid to get rid of him. I am fully expecting a draft pick in return with whatever junk player is thrown in.

I meant I don't care how they trade him into cap space as long as we don't give up any first to do it.

Id say we wouldn't have to but on the flip side, when Washington was unloading him in the same situation 2 years ago, Memphis had to give up 2 first rounders.

Different scenarios I know but something to keep in mind.

One thing I like a lot about Stevens vs Ainge is how quick and methodical Stevens moves.

Ainge would let **** stew for weeks, if not months before he made a decisive move.

Steven's doesn't give a ****.

I like second round picks
Jalen Brunson was a 2nd round pick.
Derrick White was pick #29

Jokic, Draymond Green and Isaiah Thomas were 2nd round picks too.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I don’t expect anything, In just not ready for son and gloom well before we know anything!

It makes zero sense for a dude coming off a major injury to ramp up for the playoffs where he got his injury in the first place.

Tatum will be back by next playoffs I'm sure. He will be coming off the bench and minute restricted.

Why put him and his Achilles under the pressures that you're talking about? For what purpose? They're not a championship roster right now.

I don’t know much, but I do know, that if Tatum gets cleared anywhere near the start of the playoffs, he’s going to play. I don’t know the future, I know that Tatum if anyone, is going to fight to be out there any chance he can. Once the doctors say go, there is no holding back.

So, going by what you say, you’re counting on the doctors saying he won’t play. Except his own surgeon isn’t even as pessimistic as you.

Suppose he's ready in March, maybe. Anything later than that is irresponsible, imo.

Maybe Stevens sees something in Simons that I don't, or maybe there is some third team that wants him. But I find it hard to believe that a contending team wasn't willing to give a better return for Jrue.

What could a contending team part with that keeps them competitive and satisfies the Celtics wants too?

It doesn't make sense to say that Stevens didn't get the best deal possible. Clearly this is the deal he finds the most valuable.

Simon is on the move anyway.

Remember the apron tax when you are suggesting trades for KP and Hauser. They have to shed $18M+ (net)

would Nets give up 19 for Hauser? Nets would still have 8,26,27 after trade

I will continue to say, even as great as the Jrue trade was, it's not a win-now move. We are not contending next year. Reset this thing by moving, at least, JB. I'd move White as well. HOU still has young players and future picks. I'd look out for them to ask about White.

Very few teams have a need for Jrue and can absorb his salary.
The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.

Hauser is a fantastic addition to a team that's contending (in their minds). I'm not sure why BRK would want him unless the Celtics pay them off. Receiving a pick from BRK is unrealistic to me.

SAS, HOU, LAL, DAL, and so forth.

That being said, POR gave us a youngish player and picks for Jrue, so who the **** knows.

I'm not moving White for anything short of a haul. And only if they're commiting to the tank.
