This is actually a really good trade for both teams IMO. Thunder needed youth and a capable SF. Suns needed veteran leadership if not also better shooting from the PG position.

Thunder already have youth and a capable small forward(s) in Bazley and Roby. Trade makes way more sense for the Suns. I wonder if Paul forced his way to PHO because otherwise I am having a really tough time understanding why OKC took back scrubs and salary when they certainly should have been able to get better offers.

Paul's contract is a real challenge it is so much money that you have to be a cap space team to even think about taking on 40+ mil for the next two years. I am all about getting the best player in the trade but in this instance OKC wasn't winning a title with CP3 so the fact that Oubre and Rubio aren't going to win OKC a title they are likely to continue this trend of playing well in OKC and becoming bigger trade assets. That said Oubre is only 24. I do think it is funny that OKC was fine with '22 pick which Paul will likely be toast by then.

To be honest, the Josh Green is the odd one in the workout list, who isn't belong to top 20.

I am fine with him but if we pick RJH at 14 and JG at 26 seems pretty odd.

I am happy Lewis/Terry/Topin/Okoro not in the list.

I hope we roll the dice on 30 for Devon Dotson, IMHO he is the Kemba Walker Clone (with slightly better size).

Dotson is a true Burner, really top end elite for nba speed, he is not nearly the shooter Kemba was leaving college with that said he is not a bad shooter in 2 or 3 years he will likley have a good three point shot it will just take a little time. Would not mind him at 30 if we go big earlier

If we draft another 6'7-6'8 guy I will lose my mind.
Good assessment:

So what's everyone' big board? Or if you're like me and more of a casual follower who do you want at 14?

For me Precious is the guy I want the most at 14. Then Nesmith then Bey.

Never has been. Dude is 6-3 170 lbs. Can only guard the 1 and for backups they're looking for bigger guys so they have more versatility. Part of reason Hampton is so enticing to them.

Look at Wanamaker. Not a fan of his but he's 6-4 210 lbs and doesn't get targeted

You don't draft a PG at #14 to be a back up, you drafting him as an heir apparent. Looking at the attraction and the success they have had with fast lead guards Lewis is a prototype. The kid can shoot it and absolutely fly. He is also a 19 year old sophmore. It looks like some mocks have him going to NOLA right before us at #13 though you have to wonder how acquiring Bledsoe and 3 years remaining on his deal impacts that.

The only way I'm okay with Hampton at 14 is if the shooters (Nesmith, Bey, Terry) were all gone by then. Otherwise, I would have a hard time comprehending picking a PG who's a work in progress as a shooter, playmaker, and defender, when the team's biggest needs are shooting, bench scoring, and frontcourt help.

The team also need slashing, switching in defense

I prefer Precious more but I can live with RJ

https://celticswire.usatoday.com/2020/11/05/nba-boston-celtics-dotson-met-2020-draft/

The Boston Celtics have reportedly met with Kansas point guard prospect Devon Dotson, according to the New York Times’ Adam Zagoria.

The super-quick floor general met with the Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder last week, and has met with “most of the teams picking 20-36,” including the New York Knicks.

Context is everything. You just gave the biggest reason for drafting Olynyk over Giannis.

That said, Ainge's successful picks in the teens have generally been guys who could score. His good picks of scoring-challenged guys have mainly been Brown, Smart, Rondo, Tony Allen and Perk. (Well, Romeo can be debated too.)

And again, they don’t see Lewis as anything remotely close to an heir apparent lol. Fits nothing like their guards in Brad’s system...

He is 6'3 not 6'1 the weight will come with time and he will be somewhat switchable the first year or two will be rough but the first year or two he will be a backup, he is lighting fast, and can shoot and pass, there are much worse picks.

If we're keeping the picks i hope we get Nesmith and Isaiah Stewart, that would be a pretty nice draft which would address our needs.

Been looking at Hinton. I'm sold! Relentless defender, competitor, can knock down some 3s. Doubt he'll last until #46.

I have cooled a little on precious at 14 based on his measurements but would not hate him there
would prefer a dropper like Hayes or devin vaseel
Would like Nesmith
Would be happy with with Jalen Smith Precious Kira Lewis Cole Anthony
Would be disapointed but not mad at Saddiq Bey, Terry (He is too small for this slot even if he is a good shooter)
Would be very concerned with RJ Hampton, He is not a PG and am very concerned about both his shooting and his defense

26 and 30 I love Oturo and Reed as bigs, I think Woodard has good potential as a wing Dotson will be a solid PG, and who knows who will drop. If we need to stash Bolmero and Maledon both look like good options

I would really like a draft of either
14 Lewis
26 Woddard or Bolmero
30 Oturo

Or
14 Smith
26 Oturo
30 Dotson
