I'm really trying to talk myself into the return we got, but...I just can't. It wasn't enough.

I don't mind the reasoning at all to try this pick, it makes total sense. You just have to fleece that team though. We didn't just not fleece them, we basically tied or maybe even lost the deal on paper.

I'm also not a fan of going all-in.

HOWEVER, DANNY HAS PROVED ME WRONG BEFORE. I THOUGHT WE GOT NOTHING FOR RONDO AND JEFF GREEN, AND DANNY ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT IN THOSE TRADES.

So I don't know how to feel right now

If the LAL pick falls between 2-5 next year the Cs get it. If not, they get SAC '19 unprotected.

The worst part is having to wait for god knows how long to know how to feel about this.

We get #3 and we get either the Lakers pick if it is anywhere from 2-5 next year. If the Lakers pick is 1st or 6-30, we get the Kings pick in 2019 (seemingly unprotected, though that's not completely confirmed yet from what I've seen).

I feel like the odds of sac sucking in 19 are better than Lakers sucking in 18

That said danny needed to get both these picks for trading down

Him and Simmons have the most potential now of any lottery team going.

Fultz will be a really good player, but hopefully the Celtics are hanging banner 18 while he's averaging 20, 7 & 5 on a Philly team that is 41-41

Right now it's 2017 PHI #3 and 2018 LAL 1st (if 2-5; otherwise, turns into 2019 SAC 1st).
No word yet on further moves but that's the expectation around the league.

The way this trade has gone down I wouldn't be shocked if that SAC pick is 1-29 protected.

Thomas/Smart
Hayward/Bradley
George/Brown
Horford/Tatum
Zizic
BKN 18
LASAC 18/19

I'm gonna have some fun dreams tonight

That's all that is, a dream. That team won't beat Cleveland and Butler and IT will be past 30 and on his back 9 by the time it is. If by chance it can, it is getting smoked by GS.

So yeah go dream...

Butler isn't a part of his plan it's actually PG13. Big difference IMO

Danny needed both with no protections. That's the price for number 1 if you want it that badly. And apparently they did. Ainge should have pushed away and let them crawl back later in the week.

Well apparently he couldn't so it's a likely star in the hand versus two in the bush. Lots of us are willing to pick the two -- me, because I think we can get a player close to Fultz this year at 3 and I'm tempted by the bigs in next year's draft and think LAL will still suck.

It is very fitting to use a Conor McGregor quote connected to this move because the results of this trade feel much like the results of his fight with Mayeeather....Embarassing

Conor is getting paid like 40 times what he can make for a UFC fight, and will never have to fight again.

Floyd is 40 years old and will fight a super conservative defensive fight and probably just outpoint him with jabs, like he's done with the rest of the slobs he's beaten recently. And if Conor does *anything* in that fight, or even just goes the distance or wins a round or two, he is a legend forever.

Anyhow, moving on.

Mayweather is gonna drop him like a bag of donuts.

Your thinking that fight has any chance not ending in a knockout is helping me realize why you like this trade, though.

I'm saying it doesn't matter. It's a crappier version of the Manny fight. Manny was totally overmatched and his only chance was landing a haymaker. Floyd kept it in 2nd gear and fought the boring, defensive fight that gave him a 100% chance to win. He will likely do the same vs Conor.

Could certainly knock him out, but highly unlikely he is going to open up at all, especially in the early rounds. If Conor takes it to 5 with a couple of meaningless flurries that get the crowd jacked up, that's a huge win, even if he doesn't win a round. He will have better cardio and could very well go the distance himself if he fights defensive.

And he would get $100m for a HORRIBLE fight either way.

Good for him.

Actually...

How good is the chance Silver stepped in? No no protection on both picks to Boston. Wouldn't shock me in the least.

That team is not possible under the cap. Say good bye to at least Tatum and Bradley in that scenario where PG and Hayward come to Boston.

I'm sure Ainge could maneuver his way through. Zeller, Rozier, Crowder is fine in terms of sending salary out for George. Ainge would be talking about moving pennies to fit Hayward under a max or near-max contract.

Regardless, Bradley would probably be on the move relatively quickly anyways in this scenario unless he were to agree to a puny contract extension.

It seems Ainge has OTHER plans on draft night. He apparently needed to get the easy stuff done first

I haven't even accepted this trade yet to the point where I'm willing to acknowledge the existence of that pick.

Since its likely not staying here very long. Same with pick 3
