I would love to see a deal around Avery for Richaun Holmes and a pick. Bradley compliments Simmons so well and Holmes is exactly what we need in the front court and is still cheap and young.
Before the season I was stumping for Richaun Holmes! He reminds me of prime Amir, really mobile, can protect the rim, and has a feel for rolling to the basket. But now that the 76ers frontcourt logjam has largely resolved itself (Noel traded for scraps, Okafor getting passed by Holmes on the depth chart, Embiid being perpetually hurt), and Holmes has had a strong year, I think the window has passed.

You're not getting MIN '17 AND a cost-controlled two-way upgrade at C. That's crazy. If you were that would be much higher than plan Q.
Bottom line - you do not have a frontcourt for 2017. Hayward doesn't address that. Thomas and Hayward on the floor together would be a sieve. You're going to compete with Cleveland now by having two late pick rookies from overseas behind them?
If you trade for Hayward, it is to replace Isaiah Thomas in the salary structure. So when does the other shoe drop? Can you play one season with a disgruntled IT? Part of the reason Phoenix traded him, was because he wasn't happy coming off the bench behind inferior players.
IMO Celtics fans are getting too strongly wrapped up in the fireworks of giving a max to Hayward, without thinking critically of whether or not Boston can be a better T-E-A-M after accounting for roster construction. To balance out this hypothetical Horford-Hayward led roster, there's going to have to be a lot of good players moved off this team.
The Celts are drafting a scorer who can run with IT in 2017. They drafted an ultra-talented wing last year. Use your capspace on the players you have (K.O.), or to absorb cost-controlled upgrades that have more value to you than anyone else like Dieng.
Ainge hasn't made moves for the sake of fireworks yet, and I don't think he's about to start now.
