I'm not talking about you saying he can't shoot, I'm talking about when you said there's something wrong with his mental makeup. You haven't said anything positive about Simmons, how is that any different than what Homer is doing about Gordon?
He doesn't think it will work out, i disagree with him but its extremely possible Homer is correct. There's zero risk for the Pats here, but Gordon has a serious problem and could relapse at any given moment.
I think the mental makeup is why he can’t shoot. As for not saying anything nice I have said I wouldn't mind if he was on the Cs. Just not over guys like Tatum and Brown. Also his passing is incredible and I’ve said that. So yeah I think there are some aspects that make him a at times above average player...just nowhere near elite or...Magic level. I have stated this many times.
The problem at times I think with Ben Simmons is the hype machine is out of control since day 1. Generation talent! I mean how many times do we have to hear generational talent with the Sixers? And I even hear Simmons is the next Lebron at times.
I mean sure Simmons might make "the leap" in years 2 and 3. He very well might. But I do have an icky taste in my mouth at times based on how that team performed against a banged up depleted Celtics squad in the playoffs. Perhaps they over looked us, but wouldn't that just last one or two games in a series?
Simmons had a 1 point playoff game. ONE POINT.
Like I said that team might very well become legit but until proven otherwise we have their number.
On topic, I just think we had to get over the twitches that happened with realizing a Giants fan was here even though we all love homer.
I still can have nightmares over 2007.![]()

Sometimes I truly do believe we just struggle with teams connected to how Tom Coughlin builds them up. Ghosts of the Giants....
It's slightly possible that to the Pats they consider this Jaguars team a legit problem for the remainder of Brady's career here if they think that team isn't a flash in the pan. They kicked the snot out of the Pats yesterday and they did play pretty tough in NE for the title game. They don't seem scared of the Pats at all, they don't act like the Steelers or some stupid team like that who will fold by the end of the game.
Most teams on the schedule the Pats will beat no matter what by the end of the game. These tough well coached defensive physical teams like the current Jags, the Giants of the past, a few of those Baltimore teams etc. can be the Pats kryptonite and stall the offense completely. A few of those Broncos teams too.
Most worry about the D, but most Pats defenses start out slow anyway and are never often ranked high in recent years.
The offense needs to be clicking on all cylinders by years end......and that will help the D too.
The Jags folded last year and were folding yesterday. Had Cannon been in there...I wonder how it turns out.
