ya, for a one and done playing only 24mpg his highlight reel is quite lengthy and very impressive ...the 1st one that appeared on my search was 15 mins long
dude has elite lateral movement
elite wingspan
keeps the ball moving, can pass and rebound very very well
he finishes around the rim very well and in traffic, lots of put backs
hustle play after hustle play after hustle play...
looks and plays much bigger than 6'6
Can pass ? Not even one assist per game in 36 game playing 24 mpg ? 3.9 rebounds is a good rebounder? Only thing he was good at was defense and steals I watched and watched way to hesitant to shoot even when open? Look for a second rounder ok but saying dude can pass with not one assist per game makes no sense unless your talking about his hockey assist passes I've seen two games where his outlet looked good dude didn't want the ball in his hands the passes I seen were immediately passed on to the next guy. Defensive looks good but he is never going to be a star probably a defensive rotation guy is his ceiling.
Are we we really posting assist numbers for a guy who's not even a PG and was only a freshman, played basically the entire season at age 18 and played for the college team that ranked 315th in the country in 3 pt% ?
Look, I'm not sayin he's the best passer in the world. But there's a couple of indicators that tell us that he's a low usage guy who knows how to move the ball and find the open man, keep the offense flowing.
One indicator is that he only had a 16% usage rate this season. The other indicator is the film here at the 2:38 mark:
Oh and you mentioned his rebounding. There's some clips at 4:24 of that vid that show his ability to crash the boards.
Stats don't tell the whole story - especially when we're talking about only a 1 year sample size, and a dude who was only 18 yrs old for basically that entire season.
Lastly, to do a more accurate evaluation, it's always best to look at more than just a 1 year sample size. If we look at 2 years ago (his last year of prep school ball), he was the go-to scorer and best player on the 2nd best HS team on the planet.
Here, he leads his team to their 3rd win in the GEICO nationals tournament, advancing to the national championship game where they'd face Montverde Academy (usually the best HS team in the country, which had a bunch of future NBA players, including Dariq Whitehead and Jalen Hood-Schifino)
