Ray Allen is Miami's PROBLEM now. Prima Donna - a vain or undisciplined person who finds it difficult to work under direction or as part of a team.

Terry is probably better, IMO.

Ray the better shooter though.

OH well, Jason Terry is a Celtic. My allegiance is to JET, not Ray... Wow, weird to say.

Rationalizing. Ray scored 14.2 ppg on 45 percent shooting from 3 point range. That is an incredible shooting performance.

Add in the fact that we can't go acquire any kind of talent, much less a good player, and Allen's leaving severely depletes our roster.

Let's no underestimate what this does to our team. We have no SG right now. Terry is a bench player, and Bradley is a hurt combo-guard.

UGh. Starting to sink in.

post his numbers from the playoffs. No wait, i will.

10.7ppg on 30.4% from 3. Had the surgery, at 37, not sure he'll ever be the same.

I'm not as mad at losing that, as i am missing out on the chance for a clutch 3 from time to time for nothing.

it's the same as james. I'm not even mad that he left, it's how he did it. YOu go to the 1 team u just lost game 7 too in conference finals for less then half the money.....

If we offered 6m, and he got 5. ok, but that's just and FU to boston, So FU right back. Cant wait for KG to level him coming around a screen.

He isn't, but at this point he's a little more versatile. But, the plan was to play both of them.

Honestly it's a crap shoot. Ray may be the better shooter but when it comes to a player who's gonna be a primary scorer for the 2nd unit who can create their own offense it's Terry. Terry's a baller who's got a competitive demeanor and can jump start that second unit. Honestly we might look back at all this and laugh if Terry plays well and Bradley breaks with all the new minutes and responsibilities.

I don't care anymore it was like Ray was never here. Loved the guy but he is nuts if he thinks fans here won't care he is Johnny Damon (and I am a Yankee fan) but worse it wasn't the money or his family all the things we heard but it was what golf and warm weather and he couldn't get along with Rondo.

Sorry but screw Ray Allen and hello Jet, I can't believe how much I backed this guy over the years to be let down this way.

I don't think it was a secret that Allen wanted the Heat. That's why the Celtics bid so much for him, knowing they would have to overpay to get him to stay. He didn't make his asking price, that just how much the Celtics offered.

Right now it looks bad, but in a year you may be thanking Allen for taking up 6 million of the Heat's cap instead of 12 million of yours.

I hope the Celtics convince Fab Melo to wear #20 next season, lol. Or any other "scrub" that wants it.

BetRAYal.

Now that this has gone down, I was thinking back to Ray's reaction on the court after we clinched in 08. Dude was real low-key with his enthusiasm. Like "talked a car dealer down a few thousand on the sticker price" happy rather than "****! I just won a freaking world title after 12 long years in the league!" kind of happy.

Dude is emotionally impotent. In light of that, it's kinda not surprising he'd snake like this.

Well to be fair he was injured when the playoffs started. And your right he may not be the same. Then aging the heat don't need him to be. All then need him to do his hit threes. He can do that until he is 42.

Won't happen (and rightfully so). Doc and Danny have too much class for that.

Just to throw out a few different lineups:

Rondo-Pierce-Green-Bass-KG

Rondo-Terry-Pierce-Green-KG

Terry-Bradley-Pierce-Sullinger-KG

In other words, the core is still intact. They have plenty of talent and some versatile guys who can play multiple positions. Having Green back is imperative though, gotta have him back.

At least with Damon you knew (in your heart) he was a slime bag. Ray's got that good guy mask.

I know it's unlikely. But I can hope. Ray didn't show us too much class by leaving the way he did to go to the HEAT of all teams. I know he has been a classy guy while playing here, but what he did erases that.

So you think Ray's number will be retired? No chance of that happening...

so what's stopping anyone from wearing #20 next season...?

Nah, this is a pretty cheap deal. I really doubt the Heat are going to be sweating the four or five mil they have to pay Ray when he's an expiring contract.

Here's hoping that next time he's in the finals, he forgets to bring his J for 6/7 games.

I think his streakiness has to do with psychosis and his so called borderline OCD

What a huge bummer. I was really hoping for a Terry/Ray bench backcourt. Instead he joins the team that poses the biggest obstacle to the team and the fan base for less money.

Kind of a kick in the balls, Ray. Not the best way to preserve your legacy.

I'd really like to hear some reactions to this from KG / Pierce / Doc
