Dudley dropping some truth bombs. The point about teams building around 2 All Stars is important. These guys in SL want to show off their bag, but they ain't gonna get much chance as a 14 or 15th guy. Show your defense, learn the sets, take good passes and shots, make good reads, be there on time and bring an extra towel for waiving. The trained eyes on the bench and in the stands know what they are shopping for.

The exception is the higher draft picks. More casual fans want to see them show off their stuff, partially for bragging rights and justification of taking one player over another. That's part of the allure and fun of summer league -- all the potential on display. Doesn't mean much for regular season but it's fun for us.

For the players on the outside looking for a steady gig, heed The Dudley's words!

I've resisted posting this as I'm guessing it will be mocked, but, offensively I'm hoping to see multiple passes out of the post from Queta.

Yeah, I mean any guy who's on the C's SL team this year has 10 guys in front of them on the depth chart this season (our returning 10 players who got rotation mins in the playoffs last yr). So these guys on our SL roster are all just fighting for some role player mins off the bench.

So Dudley's words certainly apply to all of them. It's not about scoring 20+ PPG in SL. It's about doing the little things, playing the right way, picking up on the team's system/schemes quickly, making the right reads, playing hard, etc.

Who says the Celtics are drafting 30? No Porzingis until January, their record is likely to take a bit of a hit.
And with the rest of the NBA gunning for them and improvement among their rivals, it's going to be
a rougher haul this upcoming season... Now, the Celtics aren't going to be in the Lottery (Goodbye Cooper Flagg)
but somewhere from 20 - 30 is likely in the cards.

What was our winning percentage with and without Porzi during the regular season last season? Improvement by rivals may have an impact (Chip high), but I don’t remember us being much worse without him.

It's a mistake to think in last season's terms: Other than Porzingis, the Celtics were very injury free - it's difficult to
depend on something like that occurring for two years in a row.The Eastern Conference is going to be much tougher this
season; no easy cake walk through it. The Celts are likely to manage the Regular Season: Finish with a worst
record but be ready to dominate during the Playoffs.

Mistake to think of last season (technically the majority of the Jays career), but not to make up what we think other teams might be/do? Why can’t we think of the best outcome for the Celtics, but for other teams?

I’m tired of fearing the worst before it happens to us. Sometimes I want to imagine that everything will go our way instead of fearing everything will go everyone else’s way, as we do every season before it starts and during. Every season teams made major moves, they built super teams, and every season the Celtics are in the ECF/Finals.

Next season I’m going to panic, think everything is going to go wrong for us. I’m going to be upset when we lose. I’m going to believe the chip was the fluke everyone said it was. I don’t want to feel that way but it’s always the sky is falling until it doesn’t.

I wish We could go in thinking the chip released the best version of the team. It released their fear that the moment is too big. It released them to never care what is going on outside of them. It released their Jordan/Kobe/LBJ. I want to believe that no matter what happens they will rise to the occasion. I want to believe that they can do everything now that they have gotten over the first hurdle. The flood gates are open!!

Why shouldn’t we believe the best for us too? I should never tell people not to be too cocky. I shouldn’t tell them to tamp down their expectations and beliefs. I do it anyway. I don’t know why I’m like that, but I don’t want to be.

Screw it! Rico is the next Luka, the team will be healthy in the most important moments, and Celtics win 19 in a sweep!! Just let me have those thoughts for as long as I can! I’m sorry everyone, believe what makes you happy!

So I'm thinking what they're doing is:

-Practice today in Boston (stay in BOS as long as possible, keep sleeping in own bed..)
-Travel day Thursday
-Practice in Vegas on Friday
-1st game on Saturday

There's a Queta jumper at the end of the video... That guy might be getting ready to move away from the basket a bit.

He shoots a good amount of 3's after Practice. And basically made one in the Playoffs, but his foot was on the line, so they called it a 2.

I've been convinced for a while that he's capable of a diversified offense and also will become an impactful rotation player. His shot selection in summer league will be a thing to watch.

Best predictor of future availability is past injury history and the Celtics have a lot of rotation guys that always play like Tatum, White, Hauser, Pritchard and Horford (outside of back to backs). Holiday and Brown don't usually miss much time either. Porzingis is the only injury prone guy in the rotation. Boston has plenty of serviceable depth to avoid running guys into the ground as well. No reason to expect the Celtics to be particularly hard hit by injuries next season.

Thanks, makes sense--though I suppose they could still fly out tonight.

Last season Jahm'ius Ramsey played for the Oklahoma City Blue and Kylor Kelley played center for Maine. They've swapped jerseys for summer league.

I've heard some people say Tony Allen.. And since we're only talking ceiling which is not necessarily going to happen maybe that is accurate
