Could that be enough?
Given Griffin's history, I think his #1 target is Tatum. His number 2 target is his #1 target. His number 3 target is his number 2 target.
I'd go so far right now to almost say Griffin probably wants Tatum more than Ainge wants Anthony Davis.... Ainge has to realize Davis could be a rental so of course that has to damper his enthusiasm somewhat.
I think Griffin may even appreciate Brown's game and how he has done relatively well in postseason but you need to get a perimeter shooter or at least a 2 way big to trade away Davis for a player(s).
Zion isn't nearly as good as a young Lebron IMHO but he is a somewhat similar player when it comes to team building. Get players that can space the floor for him so he has to beat 1 or 2 players driving to the basket and not 2 or 3.
If Brown goes out in a deal for Davis, I think it somehow in a 3 way trade where Pelicans get a fairly young shooter.
No way in hell do I value Brown at full market value in Pelicans' gm's shoes. Brown one more year to RFA and he is not a good fit with Zion in the halfcourt at least on the offensive end. If Brown really learns to shoot very well, different story but that is more of a gamble than the Pelicans gm should be making.
Brown and Ingram/Ball have more value to Pelicans if Pelicans think Zion has a good chance of being a complete bust that is let go after 2 years. Not many people think that right now. And yes, Zion could improve a lot as a shooter but tough to count on that right now....
