I have absolutely no doubt that this is what Kings' management told the Ringer. I also have absolutely no doubt that Kings' management was lying.

Yup.

That read as if it was transcribed off Kings' letterhead.

I really like Holmes as a backup big for the C's.

How about:

Horford
Langford or Nesmith
1st

for Holmes & Barnes.

Curmudgeon wrote:BTW, I'd be willing to bet that the player Ainge wants to unload is Rudy Gobert. Look at that ridiculous contract. Horford and Smart for Gobert and Ingles is what Ainge would like to do. But then, what will the Celtics do with the Timelord? Makes no sense for Boston. The player who makes sense for Boston is Conley, and Ainge is asking for a pick in that exchange.

If you trade for Gobert you Trade Timelord.

I bet you could get Haliburton for Timelord and a pick, at least mitchell for Timelord
Sacramento needs a defensive infusion as well as a long term bigman.

Mitchell
Brown
Ingles
Tatum
Gobert

Defense would be best in the league.

Gobert could finally give Ime that three-big lineup you know he wants to roll out.

I proposed a 3 team deal on the trade board that was well recieved.

Horford and PJ Washington to Sacramento
Holmes and Schroder to Charlotte
Buddy, Ramsay and Plumblee to Boston

Smart/Pritchard/Ramsay
Buddy/Richardson/Thomas
Brown/Nesmith/Romeo
Tatum/GrantW/Hauser/BolBol
Timelord/PLumblee/Kanter

The playing together aspect is big to them. Doesn’t mean Beal will 100% come here, but from everything I’ve heard, it’s either Washington, or here.

Plus, in theory that’s three all star level players. Or whatever we get for JB ;)

Going to come down to a few things here imo:

1. Will the Wizards offer the supermax? We've all agreed, hell Wiz fans agree, that they shouldn't pay him a supermax. It'd be **** stupid. Listening to Beal on the pod today, it almost struck me as the GM Sheppard doesn't want to do it, but the owner does.

2. How much will the Wizards invest in the team? They've been rumored for Sabonis and Grant. Let's say Sabonis isn't moved, they definitely have the assets to get Grant but are they willing to pay him $25+ million a season for 4 years? Also, I believe their first this year is controlled by the Rockets b/c of the Wall deal, so are they willing to move another one to invest in a treadmill team? With most teams I think they'd say no, but it's the Wizards, who've been mediocre pretty much our whole lives at this point.

3. Where do the Wizards finish? If they're out in the play-in, lose in Round 1 or even miss the playoffs, will that sway Bea's decision?

IMO, this is the Kemba in Charlotte situation all over again; they should move on. But they seem willing to pay him a supermax.

Not sure if this is credible at all, but Smart for Bogdanovic does make sense. Issue is he's 32 and we'd have to pay him after next year.

This may just be a follow on from the tweet I posted yesterday by some Utah sports talk personality:

Maybe there's a three-way involving Hornets who need defense and a starting center. Reunite Hayward and Gobert lol.

Yeah, 33 in April. Can't see why we'd be throwing in a couple of seconds.

Probably because Smart is owed $77M over the next 4 years and Bogdanovic is $20M/1 year?

I would be surprised if we left ourselves with only Pritchard as a true PG on the roster, but who knows?

I guess, if you regard Smart's contract as a negative. With the way salaries go up every year, I don't really think it will be regarded badly, personally.

I don't know, $20M a year is a decent amount to pay for the ~5th best guy on a contending team...
